Julie Garwood triumphed with her phenomenal For the Roses and her #1 New York Times bestselling trio of novels, One Pink Rose, One White Rose and One Red Rose. Now, she brings her irresistible and heartwarming wit to a delightful love story featuring the unforgettable frontier family, the Claybornes of Blue Belle, Montana.
Cole Clayborne had always walked a dark path and flirted with a life of crime. While his three brothers chose to settle into married life, Cole rebelliously refused to be tied down. Now, an elusive stranger draws him into a shadowy chase that will bring unexpected turns to his uncertain future - and may determine which side of the law the restless Cole favors. A tragic, heartbreaking loss drives U.S. Marshal Daniel Ryan on a quest for vengeance - and leads him to a beautiful young woman, the sole witness to a terrible crime. But the lawman finds that love is the greatest trial of all as he unwittingly draws her into the line of fire. The power and drama of their blossoming passion, entwined with the surprising destiny of the wayward Cole, make Come the Spring a superbly entertaining adventure inside the heart of "a family whose love and loyalty will truly inspire." "A great story an inconsistent narrator"
I enjoyed the characters and as the last of a series it was an impressive finale.
The beauty of this book is that all the characters major and minor stand out. I enjoyed both the good guys and the bad guys. I can visualize the villains and the heroes as well as all the supporting players (why I think it is a 5 star story).
Richard Ferrone who gave an excellent performance in the Recorded books release in 1998. I think a male narrator is a good choice but Naramore characters and emotional passages were very inconsistent. He over did female emotions and southern black dialect.
"Best Clayborne book of all!"
This is the story of Cole Clayborne, the toughest of the brothers. Drafted to help capture a group of murdering thieves, Cole makes friends and finds love. It is a novel from 1997 filled with adventure and romance. Worth the effort!
"Love the characters and suspense"
Excellent series. Good characterization, appropriate suspense, captivating mystery, descriptive adventure, and enticing romance. This book was a quality conclusion to the Claybournes. Highly recommend all three books....in order.
I loved this series from the moment I started listening. The characters are amazing. The story from start to finish draws you in and keeps you wanting more. There were a few surprises, a few laughs, and a great adventure.
"I Enjoyed the Series"
I enjoyed the whole series, but this and the first book (For The Roses) are my favorites .
I know these books are listed as romance but they also have great mysteries in them, this one more than rest in my opinion. I love Julie Garwood's books and listen to the over & over. If you like mystery you will like this book.
My only suggestion is whoever reads these must start with the first book there's three in total and they're all good, but this was, my favorite, good read! Well done! loved it..... hated that it ended
"Love the story"
Love the way all 4 books came together with Cole at the end and how it ties in with her contemporary novels I hope she writes more of these that tied with other novels and characters and for other readers who have not read the other novels that tie into them she is brilliant that any of her stories can be pick up and read. The narrator is good with the men voices but as good with the females, but overall it was great.
"Great end to this series"
Thoroughly enjoyed this last book in the series. Had all the details I appreciated from the first one. Cole was one of my favorites in this family from the start. The plot was interesting and had some good twists. Would definitely recommend listening to the previous two in the series first. The narrator was pretty good. I know other reviewers didn't like him much, and I agree I didn't like his voice for Daniel. But overall it did not ruin the series for me.
"Great ending to the series"
This book was almost as good as the 1st . I always enjoy Julie Garwoods, books. I couldn't put it down.
