Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.E. Smith presents another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Riley St. Claire has always followed her own rules. When she discovers her current employer is not as law-abiding as she thought, she has to leave town in a hurry...or end up buried with the dead guy she discovered. She doesn't expect to be picked up by a passing trader from another world.

As the ruling king of Sarafin, Vox d'Rojah is expected to produce a son who will be joined in marriage with the first-born daughter of the king of Valdier. But Vox has no intentions of having any sons, at least not in the near future. He's quite happy with the wide selection of females at his disposal. When Vox is captured by a ruthless Valdier royal and sold to a mining operation, the last thing he expects to find is his bride mate.

Vox isn't sure which would be easier: fighting another war with the Valdier or capturing and holding on to the human female who's unlike anyone he has ever encountered. Now he must escape back to his world while fighting pirates, traders - and Riley!

The king of Sarafin has met his match in Ms. Riley St. Claire from Earth. Now he just needs to figure out a way to let her know he has chosen her as his queen - and he has every intention of keeping her by his side forever.

Laughed my rear end off

Would you consider the audio edition of Choosing Riley to be better than the print version?

Better no.... the audio version brought the story more to life but I love both versions of this book.

What did you like best about this story?

Have to admit I love Riley's character and everytime Vox killed one of her coats I was laughing so much I cried.

Have you listened to any of David Brenin’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I've listened to alot of David Brenin's performances and he brings the story to life with how he narrates it.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed so much with this book. Some of the situations and the descriptions were just too funny.

Any additional comments?

I love S.E Smiths books and have bought them all and the audiobook versions. I can't tell you that I prefer one or the other. But I love listening to them and hearing someone elses take on the book. Definitely great when you have such a great narrator.

Light fun read

Apart from the main female character being too much of a 'dumb blonde' it was really funny at times. Plan on reading the rest of this series.
