Dakota Cadotte is on the run and alone. Forced out from his pack by the Alpha for being gay, Dakota fends for himself in the Denali wilderness. When he ventures too far away from his safe zone, he's put right in the path of a truck on the highway and right into the arms of Sam Waters. The two hit it off immediately as man and wolf, but Dakota fears Sam won't be so understanding when he sees what he truly is. When Dakota shifts in front of Sam, the sparks fly, but Dakota's past and pack threaten their newfound relationship.

"Hit by Love..."
I really enjoyed this story. I started the series here and it's a stand alone book, for the most part. Only once or twice did I feel like I was missing something but not so bad that I was lost. The story of Dakota and Sam was a tug-at-your heart tale and you could not help but cheer and hope for the relationship. What I liked most was that there was a story here...that included shifters and the regular world. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
"Greg Boudreaux makes this a delight!"
This series is fun, crack-like goodness...and once you start it's so very hard to stop.
Frankly, Greg Tremblay under his "Greg Boudreaux" pseudonym is just making this series a delightful listen!
What I liked: Dakota hiding being a shifter didn't go on too long (because much longer would have been annoying as all hell), and the relationship growth between Dakota and Sam.
What I didn't like: The Shifter lore was a little too Twilight-y (I hope that gets fleshed out a bit better as the series goes on), and the introduction of too many new characters too quickly. Though Greg does an admirable job of voicing them all, it still got way too confusing while listening.
Luckily though, I had bought the ebook and audio as part of a whispersync deal so I could switch to immersion reading during the tough to follow by listening only times.
On a side note, folks? The Whisperync deals for this series and the audio is almost too good to pass up. Definitely check it out before using an Audible credit - you can get the ebook and audio for only $5.98 total (as of 12/1/2016), which is far less than what one credit is worth.
Greg continues to narrate this series beautifully. He's entertaining, keeps up with the pacing of the story, and does an commendable job keeping up with all the characters. There are definitely issues with the story, the writing, and the editing, but not with the narration. Greg's narration is simply a pleasure to listen to.
Bottom Line? I was happy we finally got some shifters in this assassins/shifters series and I'm looking forward to seeing where Gasq-Dion takes the series next.

"a look into grey eyes"
this is my second book from the same author I liked the story I liked the narrator onto book 3
"Narrator make all the difference"
I'll be honest, I initially read this book 3 years ago and really hated it, gave it 2 stars. But when one of my favorite narrators started narrating the series on audio book, I tried it again from the beginning. I've been through the first three books in the series in two days, and the 2 stars is now 4 stars. Greg Boudreaux's (aka Tremblay) performance made all the difference. The story was elevated and brought to life in a way that I am now a fan of the series in audio format. On to Book 4.
"Wonderful! Loved narration, and Dakota and Sam. I"
Loved the narration, Fell in lovewithSamandDakota over again.DefinitelyGoingto finish listening to the series. Great series.
"One of my favorite in the ENTIRE SERIES - awesome!"
OMG guys! This is the first book in the series where we finally meet the “shifter” portion of “Assassin/Shifters”. Dakota was the wolf we met in Alaska who helped Mark and Josh. Now he’s run into trouble again and met Sam. Well, Sam is way more than just a friend to Dakota and we finally get to learn a bit more about what goes on in Alaska.
This is one of my favorite in this series. Dakota and Sam have an amazing link/relationship and Sam’s family is awesome! I love what happens to Dakota after Sam and Dakota hook up and I love the responses Dakota gets afterward as well. It’s so rewarding!
For me, it’s from this point forward that the series gets really going. We add in the paranormal element and Sandrine is really good at giving us a fascinating and seductive new “world” with lots of “mine, mine, mine!”
There’s danger, as usual, but most of this is lots of new world building and new characters being introduced.
Greg does another amazing job here. I LOVE his take on an “Native American” accent. The Alpha was exceptional and I ADORE how he chose to do Sam’s voice. Dakota is just right, not too light, not too heavy. Greg is fantastic at pacing and emotion and I think it is SOOOO awesome that he’s agreed to do this series. I LOVE it!
