From #1 New York Times bestselling author Vi Keeland comes a sexy new stand-alone novel.
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business and went back to my miserable date.
I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked. When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out. But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us-telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood. My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I'd never see him again. I mean, what were the chances I'd run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again, what were the chances that a month later he'd wind up being my new sexy boss?

Great, Funny Story. Well written Well writtenWell writtenWell writtenWell writtenWell writtenWell writtenWell writtenWell written ..:...............................................................................
A gritty captivating storyline with wonderful rounded and heart melting characters. A little sexy and a lot hot in parts Chase and Reese's story kept me listening all day right up to the last word.
Lovely romantic story, well narrated.
Enchanting characters. definitely a feel good story with plenty of saucey bits.
I loved that although he was a successful business man, the descriptions were about the people and not the stuff around them.
I absolutely loved this story, couldn't have asked for anything more seductively gripping & heartfelt
Vi Keeland is an automatic buy for me. This books didn't disappoint. Best of the best!
"Tall, Dark and Handsome"
Bossman really surprised me. I saw the cover and read the blurb and was not anticipating how meaty this story really is!
There is the hilarity that Vi Keeland is known for but also a seriously sweet romance between two people who have been traumatized by very unfortunate circumstances.
Hot and steamy is an understatement between this pair and I couldn't get enough of their banter and their "pretend history".
I feel like Maxine Mitchell doesn't even need any more accolades because she must have heard them all by now. She is a seasoned pro that brings any story to life and I know that no matter the content, Maxine will make it a good listen. There are cameos from Joe Arden but not a whole lot. Joe for me is the same as Maxine. Solid performance every time.
"CHASE AND REESE....WOW WHAT A STORY!!!!"
Always is....This was very well narrated!
When she says she quits...and its ON!
I thought they were great!! Both..really good job!!!
Yes, and I did!
This was almost perfect..I am still giving it 5 stars, but really 4.75 because it ended super abruptly....we needed like 1 more sentence....it was weird...
Reese needs a new job, and has been applying all over....she goes on a date that is not going well and meets HIM....Chase...Mr Bossman...of course he is super gorgeous and they are drawn to each other....Well fate is a cray thing and she keeps running into him..and ends up working for his company like a month later....The have a whirlwind romance...but both these people have damaged pasts...and Mr Chase runs hot/cold...Reese doesn't give up though...and they get their beautiful HEA!!
I swear romance books are ruining me for all other men....because these kinda guys do not really exist...LOL
GREAT LISTEN....FLOVED IT!!!!!! :) :) :)
Joe and Maxine did awesome jobs with this simply romantic, yet deeply moving story. Definitely recommend!
"It's Cliche in Every Way"
Maxine Mitchell was just about the worst female reader I've heard in a long time. She has this persistently whiny quality that just made me wish I hadn't purchase the book.
I wouldn't cut characters...I'd cut/add qualities. I'd make Chase a little more human and I'd give Reese something other than her fears to be remembered by.
"love Vi Keeland books!!!"
Love a book that makes me laugh!! Great book. Could not put the book down :)
"Another hit by Vi Keeland!"
Chase Parker!! Wow! You will definitely fall for this hot boss! Reese and Chase's story is a must read! You will not be disappointed! I loved it!!!
"I know I am in the minority here!"
I have no idea how this book has received such good reviews!!!
I could not connect with Chase and Reese!
The heroine is an average girl, who has had her issues dating men in the past. She was exceptionally annoying and most of her issues were blown out of proportion and quite unrealistic. The story has dual POV, but Reese takes the biggest chunk of it and female narrator was horrible! Most of the time sounds like she is crying ... very annoying!!!!
Too soon the office romance cliche started and with that burden came along one of the worst trope in romance history : the heroine being SECOND BEST to some ethereal dead wife / fiancée / girlfriend ... From this turning point there was no hope for a feel-good romance to blossom !! So we are stuck with a guy still hung up on his ex and a girl recovering from past tumultuous relationships.
"Perfectly Executed Narration, LOVED THIS BOOK!"
Bossman was the perfect friends to lovers office romance story!
LOVED every bit of it!
The chemistry was so evident with these characters.
These two narrators were some of the best I've ever listened to!
The way they brought Reese and Chase to life added so much fun
to this already well written book!
Highly recommend this one!
Can't wait for Vi Keeland's next book,
she is now one of my favorite, go-to Romance Authors!
"I CANT EVEN FINISH THIS"
Try as I might, I can't finish this book. I'm about 2-3 hours from the end and I just don't care to put any more effort in. Normally I've enjoyed Maxine Mitchell's narration, but her over dramatized hesitations/pauses are literally grating on my nerves. Overall the story has potential, there are funny moments and some moments that tug on your heart strings, but it didnt reel me in at all. If you're desperate to waste a credit, this one will suffice, otherwise, I've definitely heard/read better.
