Charlie's progress from the teeming streets of Whitechapel to the elegance of Chelsea Terrace is only a few miles as the crow flies. But in Jeffrey Archer's expert hands, it becomes an epic journey through the triumphs and disasters of the century, as Charlie follows a thread of love, ambition, and revenge to fulfil the dream his grandfather inspired.

"Monumentally gripping...a compulsive epic." (Mail on Sunday)
Say something about yourself!
One of my all time favourite books
unfortunately Bridged just wish it wasn't.
easily could of done with a few more hours of this truly amazing story that was superbly narrated
Fantastically narrated brilliant to listen to
Begins a little slowly: stay with it! Soon, you will be hooked!
Yes: Martin Jarvis is terrific!
Yes. Time permitting, I would have! Love Jeffrey Archer book!
Please write more Mr. Archer! Your books are superb. Thank you So Much.
"Archer is great"
Oh, if only these beautiful books by Jeffrey Archer wasn't abridged!! I love reading and listening to his books, especially since the narrators usually do a good job. But I have read the original book (fantastic!!) and these abridged ones just NEVER have the same impact. Please, please, please find the unabridged audiobooks for us Archer-fans! "Kane and Abel" is just about the best book I have ever read, and listening to the unabridged version of the book is a treat no story-lover should miss. "As the crow flies" would be so much more captivating if the WHOLE story was there, and not just the highlights!
"what a load of rubbish were is the story"
I do not know if the person that narrated this story has read the story because half the story is miss and as it is narrated it miss a lot of the important parts
the large part that was left off the narration of the story I would say about half the story is missing and it butchers the story the narration is rubbish
I am a member of this web site and have purchased many books from here this would be the most badly narrated book I have come across. I would like my money back as I do not pay for half a story
"The barrow man made good"
family business shops
The death of Charlie's son.
Good use of dramatic pauses. Changing the pace of the delivery and good use of pitch to effect different emotions. The Variance in Cockney to Privileged accents was enjoyable.
Nothing I wasn't really listening critically
