Based on the real-life horrors faced by thousands of girls, award-winning author Pamela Samuels Young takes listeners deep inside the disturbing world of child sex trafficking in a fast-paced thriller that educates as much as it entertains.
Thirteen-year-old Brianna Walker is ecstatic. She's about to sneak off to meet her first real boyfriend - a boyfriend she met on Facebook. But Brianna is in for a horrifying surprise because her boyfriend doesn't exist. Instead, Brianna unwittingly becomes the captive of a ring of drug dealers-turned-human traffickers who prey on lonely girls from dysfunctional homes. But they've made a big mistake in targeting Brianna because she doesn't meet either of those criteria.

"Diffucult to listen to because of the topic"
Listening to Anybody's Daughter is painful and infuriating. It is pain that need to be felt and anger that is necessary to stir action. This novel is about sex trafficking of early teen and preteen girls. The primary responsibility of adults is to protect children. Many of the adults in Anybody's Daughter are ruining the lives of children to make a profit. The pedaphiles that are the customers are as bad as the people that are involved in the sex trade of young girls.
This is Book 2 in the Angela Evans series. I have not listened to the prior book, but will soon. Angela Evans is a young black lawyer in the Los Angeles area. The book is well written. Narrator RC Bray is among the best and he does a great job.
"Awesomely written and narrated!"
This was my first Audible book and I really enjoyed it. Ms. Samuels-Young did it again! Simply superb! Loved it!
"Almost too real"
This book is difficult to listen to but even more difficult to stop. Amazing, realistic and gritty story of a girl pulled into an underage sex trafficking business and the struggle to find her. The amount of detail about the business and the frustrating laws regarding it are mind blowing and well researched.
The narrator was amazing and had a believable voice for every single character, whether they were male or female, Latina or African-American, frantic or insolent. Soooo well done.
Though there is plenty of violence and strong/sexual language, the author has a knack for perfect realism without using overly graphic details or excessively vulgar language merely for shock value. It's a gritty story but realistic and believable in every way. I would read it again, but only after I've recovered emotionally just a little. ;-)
I absolutely loved this book and really loved the narrator - I've found the only thing wrong with listening to books instead of reading them is the narrator. Often the person reading the book is a big turn off but this bloke is fantastic and the only thing wrong I could say about this book is the hours I lost in sleep as I couldn't turn it off.
"Young and Bray make a great pair."
I don't know which one is better the story teller or the story writer, both are geniuses in there own right. I hope there's a book 3. Angela Evans series is a hit. This reminds me of J.D.Robb Death series with the touch of romance and mystery.
Yes - The book was real. It is truly a story of how an innocent mistake can truly hurt you
Andre - He was fearless, determined, and used a lot of common sence
My favorite scene was when Andre and his crew were trying to find Brittany. It was a matter of timing.....it was truly intense as they were nearing the hotel
Graphic, but realistic. Characters depicted with great detail. Intense, and raw. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
"Excellent, eye-opening story"
Very engaging story. the author gets real with the descriptions of human trafficking so it was hard to face at times. But so well written that I cared abiut these characters and had to finish. Im very pleased with this book. Great narrator! I had to look him up so I can hear some of his other works. He handled the nuances and voices of all the various characters very well.
"loved it, wonderful book and keeps you going. than"
when I listened to the sample, I was unsure of the narrator, but glad it did not stop me from purchase. He actually did a wonderful job. The story kept you going and really makes you understand more than what you would ever manage that goes on and right in front of the human eyes.
love love it. brings real issues to life. must read or must listen. check it out
