After a bruising divorce, headstrong Juliet Miller invests in a flat and advertises for a flatmate. Along comes Floz, raw from her own relationship split. When Juliet's brother, Guy, meets Floz, he is overcome with a massive crush. Can Guy turn Floz's affection for his family into love for him?
Guy's best friend, Steve, has always had an unrequited crush on Juliet. After a night of too much wine, they end up in bed. Convinced that Juliet doesn't feel the same way he does, Steve agrees to a "just-sex" relationship until they find their dream partners. Then Juliet makes a series of discoveries which will turn the lives of all four friends upside down.

What a truly lovely story - I listened to this 3 times I found it very heart warming. Albeit a little predictable at times, but did throw me off the track as well. I'd listen to it again and again and recommend it.
I feel strange reporting on Millie's stories as they not really in my genre but I'm hooked on lessening to her books. She is so funny with her one liners and her stories always carry a point that needs making. They're fun and frivolous and full of feel good factor.
I didn't really enjoy the narrator, I found it very difficult to get hooked on the story due to this. However, I persevered and once the story started to open up I got into 'the zone' where I had to know what happened next!
The story itself was a little repetitive in places but was a good listen overall, dealing with some experiences and feelings I could relate to very well..
I don't think it will be one for a second listen though.
I love reading the Milly Johnson books but what a disappointment listening to the audio.
I felt that the Narrator was dull and boring with her interpretation . The characters all sounded the same and I couldn't identify with any of them like I could reading the books. Apart from Juliette who did have personality the narrator didn't use her voice to create accents and personality. I wouldn't buy book with her narrating.. Sorry but that's how I feel.
No, I never do that - don't see the point
As with all of Milly Johnsons books, there are several main characters each with their own storyline. Her books keep you interested all the way through. The characters are realistic, the storylines are sometimes a bit predictable but always enjoyable, funny, sad, easy listening.
Yes, I've read several of Milly Johnsons books, all narrated by Colleen Prendergast, she is such a good narrator, good with character voices and accents, a joy to listen to.
Not overly emotional, but it had it's funny parts and was just easy listening.
Milly Johnson is obviously a 'foodie' she makes lots of references to food in all of her books in one way or another. - I think she must've been a chef/cook before she took up writing! it always makes me hungry! I would recommend all of her books, I've read most of them. I also like the way various characters from some of her other books often make an appearance in others, (such as Freia in the wedding dress shop),
"Milly Johnson must Have"
I loved the storyline as well as the characters.
The warmth of the characters.
You feel as though you know these friends.
It is named perfectly
"British romantic humor"
I liked the warm and real, perfectly flawed characters. The humor was just raunchy enough to be grownup funny but not tacky. I learned a lot of Brit slang thanks to the kindle dictionary. If you are looking for a fun weekend read that is light but not empty, I recommend this book in kindle with audio format so you can go from reading to listening--maybe get a chore or 2 done while you listen.
"Funny, exciting and so engaging!"
Firstly, I love the narrator Colleen Prendergast. Her voice is the best!
I wish she narrated more stories.
The story was so funny. I love all the characters and the friendship between all of them. I wish I too have a gay friend like Coco and Juliette in real life. Overall, it was a fun, light hearted and a great story! Thank you Milly Johnson for lighting my heart and relaxes me every time I listen to your books. They are all feel good books which I love very much.
I love your style Milly!
"Love these books and narrator."
Love these books and narrator. Real-ish women characters, real problems, good coverage of this age group. Fun to make the connections between books.
"An Autumn Crush"
I would compare it to other Milly Johnson books, which are all great!!
Colleen is lovely to listen to. She does a great Canadian accent and an Irish one
I love Steve Feast in this book. He is a wonderful character.
This is a fantastic story, all the characters are great and link up really well. Another wonderful Milly Johnson book with nice stories of love and friendship
"Cant Fault Milly"
As always, great book to listen to. Newly divorced Juliet needs a flatmate, Floz moves in and become friends.
Juliet's twin brother Gus meets Floz and falls hard but just cant do anything right. Gus' best mate Steve has been in love with Juliet for years but she hates him even though every other female falls for him.
With Juliet's feisty temperament and Floz' quieter, calmer personality they make a great pair. Floz actually has a dark history so you really hope all goes well for her. The wooing of the 2 girls by Steve and Gus is just hilarious.
They get more and more desperate in their plans, which of course then go even more desperately wrong!
