The new novel by the author of The Alchemist.
Aleph marks a return to Paulo Coelho's beginnings. In a frank and surprising personal story, one of the world's most beloved authors embarks on a remarkable and transformative journey of self- discovery.
Facing a grave crisis of faith, and seeking a path of spiritual renewal and growth, Paulo decides to start over: to travel, to experiment, to reconnect with people and the world. On this journey through Europe, Africa, and Asia, he will again meet Hilal-the woman he loved 500 years before-an encounter that will initiate a mystical voyage through time and space, through past and present, in search of himself.
Aleph is an encounter with our fears and our sins; a search for love and forgiveness, and the courage to confront the inevitable challenges of life.

"His books have had a life-enhancing impact on millions of people." (The Times)
"One of the few to deserve the term Publishing Phenomenon." (Independent On Sunday)
"Coelho's writing is beautifully poetic but his message is what counts...he gives me hope and puts a smile on my face." (Daily Express)
I have read most of Paulo Coelho's books and I liked this very personal story of a journey on the transibirian railway. Although the story is quite difficult to believe and is certainly not as good as others, the narration was very enjoyable. I have enjoyed listening to it as I do not feel I would have had the patience reading it.
"A journal of an intimate journey"
I really enjoyed it, though not as much as The Alchemist. The author is obviously a very advanced soul and has insights and experience beyond the usual life. It revealed to me that no matter how 'advanced' we believe we are, we are meant to experience being 'human' while on this planet (warts and all) and not aspire to live here as God like. We should leave that to the next plane and relish all the emotions of humanity. It also reveals the possibility of links to other spiritual planes for those enlightened enough and with the desire connect.
