Summary

Keela Daley is the black sheep of her family. She has always come second to her younger cousin Micah. Even in the eyes of her mother, Micah shone bright, and Keela faded to black. Now, in adulthood, Micah is a bride to be, and the spotlight is solely on her. Keela is a low priority...or so she thinks.

Alec Slater is a bachelor, never one to bed the same woman, or man, twice. He is a free agent who does what he pleases and answers to no one - that is until a fiery Irish redhead with a temper to match her hair color knocks him on his arse. Literally.

She hates to admit it, but Keela needs a favor from the cocky Slater brother - a huge favor. She needs him not only to escort her to Micah's wedding but also to pose as her boyfriend. Alec agrees to help Keela but has certain conditions for her to abide by. He wants her body and plans to have it before anyone can say "I do".

What he doesn't plan on is losing his heart as well as the possibility of losing his family when someone from his past threatens his future.

Alec owns Keela, and what Alec owns, Alec keeps.

Don't do it

I read the book and I have no idea what possessed me to listen to the audio. the main female characters is quite simply rude and unnecessarily aggressive . The kind of rude no person can overlook. If the character was real she would be suitably and understandably friendless let alone anything else.

There is not enough Slater brother interaction to make this worth it. Skip to the next you won't be missing

Just Dreadful!! DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY ON THIS TRULY RIDICULOUS OFFERING!

Decided to listen to The Slater Brothers books in order after listening toDominic first. Am just exhausted by this one😮‍💨 Again, there are too many irrelevant details, why? It’s narrated by a woman but when she does the man, she does sound more feminine, just as another reviewer pointed out. The girl/very antagonistic immature woman, just got more annoying as the very poor story went on. I just became more and more disinterested. I usually listen to audiobooks so I can do other things at the same time, like mucking out my horses etc but I found myself just tuning out as it was just so boring. The sex scenes were ridiculously tedious and a station announcement is more sexy and believable.
The female lead, who I can’t even remember her name now (tuned out) is so confrontational, that I would have punched her and I’m not a violent person. She is just so annoying and threatens violence at every turn when arguing with Alec. She even threatened to ‘cut’ him at one point. She reminds me of foul mouthed Father Jack from Father Ted. Even dropping the C bomb at will. I am actually writing this review whilst listening and having just tuned back in, they are doing a particularly tedious and unrealistic sex scene. Just the pits!!! It’s truly awful and laughably bad 😂
Im up to chapter 28 I think, lost track and losing the will to live about now, hence doing the review as I just can’t finish it. They have zero chemistry. I’ve just remembered at one point, whilst attending a wedding in the Bahamas, they went to the beach. The girl thought she saw a shark fin in the surf mid way through a sexy embrace. Alec dropped her like a hot potato in the water and swam for his life to shore, leaving her behind. Not a real man or even mate if they abandon you. If that had happened to me, the guy would be well and truly dumped. She just was in a bit of a mood with him and then forgot about it. COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. UNBELIEVABLE AND NOT FUNNY. I CANNOT GO ON READING THIS UTTER DRIVEL. And guess what….there are about 5 brothers and they and the girlfriends and the dog and cat and postman all have there own bloody book. All the same nonsense. 1 and a bit books in this series is enough for me. I tried but had enough😐
if you like annoying, argumentative characters, gratuitous swearing, weak pathetic male leads, appallingly bad sex scenes and a terrible boring story, with far too much irrelevant and pointless details, then this could be the book for you 😉😁 👎 👎👎

Love it

I am continuing to enjoy each book is this series Alec and Keela's story in not finished. I wander what Keela's mother is going to do after that disgusting display of how unfeeling she is. Are their troubles over?

Great Narrator. Awful main character.

I kinda liked the storyline at first, but I just found the main character so annoying. She's supposed to be this kindhearted person who had a tough upbringing, making her insecure.
I get the bad upbringing part, but she just comes off as a very selfish person, who never listens and just expects the worst of everyone else. She gets mad at people for doing things, and then does the same things herself and then doesn't understand why people get mad at her.
I do enjoy the family dynamic of Slater Brothers but Keela is just horrible and through most of the book, I had a hard time believing she was an adult.
I will forever love Storm though!
