Readers everywhere fell in love with Syd, Maddie, David, Michael, Pete, and the irrepressible Roma Jean Freemantle in Ann McMan's 2011 best seller, Jericho. Now, return to the tiny mountain town in the much-anticipated sequel, Aftermath.
Over the past 18 months, Syd, Maddie, and little Henry have become a family, and things are going surprisingly well for most of Jericho's residents...if you don't count the devastating storm that whips through town. In the weeks and months to come, Syd, Maddie, and all of Jericho are forced to pick up the pieces and rebuild their homes, their lives, and their town. The task is sometimes hard, sometimes emotional, and sometimes absurd, but it is always full of smart and sassy humor and an abundance of good food and wine.

"Aftermath by Ann McMan is the follow-up to her debut novel, Jericho. It manages to take all of Jericho's strengths and build on them, leaving the [listener] with a story that is often hilarious, occasionally heartrending, and entirely satisfying.... Christine Williams is back as narrator, and again, the narration is excellent. I truly can't imagine anyone else bringing these words to life in the same way." (The Lesbian Review)
When I finished Jerucho I was desperate to find out what happened next. Well tornadoes, drag queens, monsterinlaws and purple haze are what happened next.
Trust be there's a whole lot more laughter going on.
You could read this as a stand alone but why would you? But Jerico first and get the full depth of characters in the town.
I want more.
"Better than the first"
It's not often that the second book is better than the first. The first book had some parts that were a bit cheesy but aftermath had me cracking up. I can't wait to read the next in the series
"hoping for a third book in the series"
loved it . I'm hoping that the story will continue to a 3 rd book there's so munch story left to say .
"Funny and cute"
The story is more about the unique people who live in Jericho after a tornado crashes through the area. There are a lot of funny and surprising twists.
I was laughing uncontrollably out loud at one part! Very entertaining! Again, I think the writing is amazing and the characters well developed. Can't wait for more from this author!
I liked the slow approach to the relationship but it may have been a bit too slow.
Great book. I love the way the author explains what is going on in the book. I would close my eyes and picture everything.
"not really a sequel but great nontheless"
I loved Jericho. and aftermath is just as amazing. Roma - Jeanne is by far my favorite side character. And the hooters bit had me in stitches.
"Not long enough"
This would have been a masterpiece if it had been as long as Jericho. Don't get me wrong, it was a VERY good book, just not enough of it!
A wonderful book full of Love and Humor. ..this is a story you don't want to pass up!
"Hard to beat book #1 Jericho."
