From the New York Times best-selling author of Not What She Seems.
Madison Nichols, aspiring actress, is floundering. Her rent is due and she needs a job. Desperately. After getting a tip about an open position, she rushes to Jameson Technologies and meets CEO Jared Jameson. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding, she is put in the awkward position of pretending to be his girlfriend. Not the job she was applying for. And when she finds out Jared lied to her to get what he wanted, she decides to get back at him. In front of his family.
Jared is stunned when Madison announces they are getting married. She pushed her revenge too far. How can he tell them it's all a lie? And when his sick aunt asks them to be married before she dies, Madison comes up with a hair-brained plan to hire an actor and stage a fake wedding.
What they both don't know is Jared's father has found out about the fake wedding. And he's got his own hair-brained plan.
This is a sweet romance, appropriate for any age.

I've heard the storyline a thousand times. The whole story was predictable and started to drone on towards the end. Good thing it's so short or I would've had to skim through to get to the happily ever after.
"It won't change your life, but it's entertaining"
Cute, Simple, Happy.
Hearing the thoughts of the main character. She was cute and funny.
The awkward party
Reese Witherspoon has never looked prettier!
"Sweet Contemporary Romance Well Told"
Yes! It was a very sweet romance with well-drawn characters you wanted to root for and a smart, funny set-up. The writing was very good and the reading was compelling and drew you into the story.
There were a lot of memorable moments, but I loved the scene toward the beginning that sets the whole story in motion - when Madison, in trying to convince Jared's family that she is his girlfriend, makes up funny, clever stories about him.
Madison, the heroine. She was completely relatable to me, like a friend, very witty, and someone I rooted for to get her happily ever after.
"Lighthearted, fun book!"
The main character was quick on her toes.
It was a light and funny book.
The scene I liked best was when the main character was introduced to her fake boyfriend's family.
"Heart warming romance"
I liked this heart warming book a lot, all romances by this author are clever and humorous
This cute little romantic chick-lit brought smiles. I just love stories about accidental relationships that go askew. I found the characters believably charming. I'm looking forward to the next in this series.
"A lovely romantic comedy"
Witty and fun, this rom-com definitely delights. My only complaint may be that the "bad guy" is just a bit too bad. But I guess that fits in the general format of the genre.
Of course, I still thoroughly enjoyed listening!
"this book is perfect if your 12 yeas old."
I actually returned this book. between the writing and the narrator I couldn't get through it. the story plot is a cute idea but badly performed and the writing this is not believable.
first off, the setting of the story in Nebraska... really? would have been more believable in New York. the main character's conflict themselves and the conversations are weak at best.
again, a cute and believable story if you're a preteen girl.
"Cute and funny romance"
I enjoyed this book. it had the right amount of sweetness and laughter to make me smile and was an effortless listen/read.
Had high expectations for the ending because the story was good until the author lost her way and forgot the girl was supposed to have a backbone. Couldn't help my yelling at Madison but I will bet you won't be able to either and feel sorry you spent the money on it.
