Publisher's Summary

When ruggedly sexy backcountry guide Grey Lowell moves to Sterling Canyon, Colorado, after buying the ski-expedition company Backtrax, his plans don't include romance. Still, it's fun to look - especially across a crowded restaurant at a beauty he dubs "Bambi". But all his plans change later that night when he's injured by a drunk driver.

Physical therapist Avery Randall is shocked to learn that Grey's the man her brother struck with his car, and even more stunned when he arrives at the clinic expecting her help. Despite her reservations and Grey's silly new nickname for her, Avery agrees to work with him, and passion begins to simmer. Yet with his livelihood at stake, Grey must make tough decisions that could hurt Avery and her family. Before long, Avery's loyalties are tested, and the choices she and Grey each make may cost them their chance at lasting love.

    "Pleasantly surprised!"

I'd never heard anything by this author before, and am so glad I stumbled across this book! There is honest depth to the story, AND some excellent hot & steamy bits. Liking forward to listening to the next one because, duh, Kate Rudd is one of the best narrators out there!

    "Beck's character development is phenomenal"

I shy away from explicit novels, as they aren't my thing. This novel by Jamie Beck refrained from much of the cliché romance novel-esque wording and while I fast forwarded through the few explicit parts, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beck develops her characters meticulously, and her storyline is fantastic. I appreciated her attention to details and the quality her book possessed. Great read.

"Kate Rudd is a fantastic narrator!"
Would you try another book from Jamie Beck and/or Kate Rudd?

Sadly, the narrator cannot save a mediocre story. This book would be a good read for someone who enjoys light romantic comedy.

    "What a great story"

This was such a pleasant surprise! I was looking for something to listen to while I got some work done and this was such a great find. The story is wonderful and the characters are very well developed. The plot keeps you going and you will fall for not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. What a wonderful gift.

    "Slow and Boring"
What disappointed you about Accidentally Hers?

I'm not sure what the basis was for the good reviews. I find the story to just be extremely S-L-O-W. I'm on Chapter 14 and honestly, everything that's happened thus far could have been taken care of in 4 chapters - and that's generous.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narrator was terrific. She voiced the different roles in a way that was distinct for each. She did the best one could do, given the content.

    "If you're into a drama"
Would you try another book from Jamie Beck and/or Kate Rudd?

Not my cup of tea. I don't enjoy too many wordy drama pieces. Didn't exactly know this was going to be a long drawn out dilemma book. The characters were ok, a little hard to relate too. Overall, it passed the time I was looking to waste, but I was quite bored.I probably won't try another book by Jamie Beck and/or Kate Rudd, but who knows.

Has Accidentally Hers turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Not necessarily.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Kate Rudd?

    Perhaps.

Did Accidentally Hers inspire you to do anything?

    No.

    "Worth A Credit!"

While not the best book I've read, this one kept my interest while I tried to figure out how Avery and Grayson would resolve their conflict. I enjoyed the characters, especially Trip, and the reader was actually pretty good on her male voices.

    Story
"Book barely OK for me but the narration was great."

Let me just start by saying I wasn’t going to get this book because of the stupid looking guy on the front. WHY anyone would put a male model on the front of a book that looks that stupid is beyond me. I associate my hero with the pic I see one the front, if there is one, but I really couldn’t this time. Between ridiculous hats and men with buns in their hair and men with horribly bushy beards I’m going to stop reading books with a man on the front if they are all going to start looking like that. BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION. I feel better after ranting for a minute.

Now, on to the book. This was another simple love story, about Grey who noticed a woman in a restaurant but didn’t speak to her, and left. Within minutes of leaving he’s hit by a car. Bambi/Avery, the woman from the restaurant, is a Physical Therapist and that’s just what Grey needs after the surgery on his leg. She’s also the sister of the man who hit Grey. And the story begins. Sooo, to sue or not to sue, that’s the question. This story did kind of go on and on about who Grey was going to sue. I mean, Avery and her family were just scraping by so Avery suggested Grey sue the bar where Andy had been drinking. Over all, it had some good points, Grey and Tripp especially, but mostly it was kind of boring. Really, the narrator (Kate Rudd) was all that kept me listening. And even though this was a free read, free listen, as is the next book, I don’t think I’ll go on to the next one. This was a long 9 ½ hours.

I did like the other players: Tripp, Emma, (needy) Kelsey, and Andy. Matt was an idiot.

What I REALLY, REALLY didn’t like, and it happened in another book I read just the other day, is when the hero forgets the heroine's name too much. Her name was Avery and Grey called her “Bambi” 57 times. He gave her the nickname the first time he looked at her. After about 15 times it became very annoying.

There was some sexual tension and sex in this story. The F-bomb was used 9 times.
As to the narration: Kate Rudd was all that made this book worthwhile. Her voices and emotions were just great!

He was too nice and she was selfish - the brother was spineless and spiteful but the story was still pretty good
