Publisher's Summary

When ruggedly sexy backcountry guide Grey Lowell moves to Sterling Canyon, Colorado, after buying the ski-expedition company Backtrax, his plans don't include romance. Still, it's fun to look - especially across a crowded restaurant at a beauty he dubs "Bambi". But all his plans change later that night when he's injured by a drunk driver.

Physical therapist Avery Randall is shocked to learn that Grey's the man her brother struck with his car, and even more stunned when he arrives at the clinic expecting her help. Despite her reservations and Grey's silly new nickname for her, Avery agrees to work with him, and passion begins to simmer. Yet with his livelihood at stake, Grey must make tough decisions that could hurt Avery and her family. Before long, Avery's loyalties are tested, and the choices she and Grey each make may cost them their chance at lasting love.

    "Pleasantly surprised!"

I'd never heard anything by this author before, and am so glad I stumbled across this book! There is honest depth to the story, AND some excellent hot & steamy bits. Liking forward to listening to the next one because, duh, Kate Rudd is one of the best narrators out there!

    "Beck's character development is phenomenal"

I shy away from explicit novels, as they aren't my thing. This novel by Jamie Beck refrained from much of the cliché romance novel-esque wording and while I fast forwarded through the few explicit parts, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beck develops her characters meticulously, and her storyline is fantastic. I appreciated her attention to details and the quality her book possessed. Great read.

    Story
    "Somewhat sappy"

I didn't like the reader. All the men sounded exactly the same and the girls were short, meaning the reader said the ends of sentences too fast. They sounded angry all the time. I only liked the voice of Kelsey. It was hard to like anyone else.

Story wise, the male characters were condescending to women and the love story was based on shallow things. The author knew a little something about the law though. Which was a plus. I guess this storyline wasn't for me. I'll stick to the thrillers I usually read.

    "Accidentally Hers by Jamie Beck"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would make Avery more likeable.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

    Trip. Loved his flirty personality.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No. N/A

Could you see Accidentally Hers being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Idk

    Any additional comments?

Accidentally Yours is my first book from Jamie Beck and I listened to the audiobook version. I loved Grayson "Gray" Lowell. He was a kind, laidback, sexy, athletic, stand-up kind of awesome guy, who practically fell in love with Avery "Bambi" Randall the first time he sees her. Even though trying to have a relationship with her is all kinds of complicated and has bad idea written all over it, he can't resist her. Avery is between a Rock and a hard place when it comes to Gray. She's definitely interested, but there are roadblocks from every direction and she can't decide what is the right thing to do. I had a hard time warming to her character or seeing that she had any real chemistry with Gray. Maybe it was the narrator's portrayal, but I couldn't find any sympathy for her. Gray's friend Trip, on the other hand was funny, sexy, a total flirt and a player, but also quite lovable. 3.5 stars

"So boring, I deserve a medal for finishing it"

Boring romance with barely any climax to the story. The narrator had a voice that was dead with whiny inflections. I will add this narrator to my list of never again.

    Story
"Hmm barely okay story. Great Narration"

Well this story was barely okay, nothing great and very predictable.

The story was okay at best. I wasn't a fan of the circumstance of this couple getting together. I thought it was rather stupid and pretty bad to make the lead female's brother the drunk driver that hits the lead male character. And then she is sticking up for her brother all the time. Makes it hard to like her. Leave the drunk drivers out of your story unless you are going to make them villains. The story really suffered because of this story line.

As for the narration, it was great. Kate Rudd is a fantastic narrator. The men sound like men and everyone gets their own distinct voice. She reads with emotion and has a great reading voice.

What did you love best about Accidentally Hers?

    I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Grey. I thought he was very well aware of what would happen between him and Avery if he went after her brother.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Grey went to the courts and told them about how Andy was trying to change his life around.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    I don't know.

    Any additional comments?

Many reviewers said they thought the characters were well developed. I disagree. I thought they were very shallowly developed and that their "angst" was invented out of thin air just to add to the story. The angst was not developed. The dead ex-girl friend was a contrivance to try to create angst but she was not at all developed. The story line or plot was rather well thought out and was quite a knotty problem to solve, but the characters did not engage me at all.

Because the knotty problem was interesting and the narrator was good, the book did keep my attention for the most part.

Would you try another book from Jamie Beck and/or Kate Rudd?

Sadly, the narrator cannot save a mediocre story. This book would be a good read for someone who enjoys light romantic comedy.
