Historical Romance to Fall in Love With
Stone Hammond is the best tracker in Texas. He never comes home empty handed. So when a wealthy railroad investor hires him to find his abducted granddaughter, Stone eagerly accepts. Charlotte Atherton, former headmistress of Sullivan's Academy for Exceptional Youths, will do anything to keep her charges safe, especially the little girl entrusted to her care after her mother's death.
Charlotte promised Lily's mother she'd keep the girl away from her unscrupulous grandfather, and nothing will stop Charlotte from fulfilling that pledge. Not even the handsome bounty hunter with surprisingly honest eyes who comes looking for them. When the teacher he's after produces documentation that shows she's the little girl's legal guardian, Stone must reevaluate everything he's been led to believe.
Is Miss Atherton villain or victim? She acts more like a loving mother than an abductress, and the children in her care clearly adore her. Should Stone break his perfect record? Then a new danger threatens, and Charlotte is forced to trust the man sent to destroy her. Stone becomes determined to protect what he once sought to tear apart. Besides, he's ready to start a new pursuit: winning Charlotte's heart.

"A Worthy Listen"
I enjoyed listening to "A Worthy Pursuit" so very much! Barbara McCulloh did a wonderful job narrating. The story was extremely well written and had me on the edge of my seat several times!!!
"Great, happy love story!"
What I love most about A Worthy Pursuit (and all Karen Witemeyer books) is that it was a clean, happy love story
I like them all. The transitions in the book make it easy to understand what character McCulloh was currently voicing.
"A Refreshing Adventurous Novel"
This book is extremely interesting, adventurous and romantic at the same time . The characters are described so well you wish you could meet them personally. The thread of faith in the characters unites them and makes the reader want to apply that behavior in real life. This book is a must read for anyone who is interested in a good novel and an old-fashioned love story.
This was an enjoyable book to listen to. The readers voice was a great match for this story. I have enjoyed all of the Karen Witemeyer's books, but I count this as one of my favorites.
I enjoyed the book so much that I can not pick just one memorable moment.
Enjoyed it all.
Yes, it kept me wanting more.
A very good listen. Well written and read book.
This is probably the best Christian romance novel I have ever read! Loved every exciting moment!
"I was a bit disappointed"
I think the lead characters were depicted to have way too much physical contact than what would have been considered appropriate for that day and time. Especially if they were Christians. And with that came a lot of inner dialogue about the responses to the physical contact. Very little focus on the Lord in this book.
I'm not likely to purchase any other books written by this author.
"A Western Romance with a Christian Message"
This is a western and a romance with a Christian message, and I enjoyed it very much. I’m not a big romance fan, but this one had very high ratings, and I’m glad I gave it a chance.
The prim and proper headmistress of a school for gifted children in Houston, Texas tries to protect several of her students when the school is unexpectedly closed. The devious grandfather of a little girl sends bounty hunters to find her. One of those bounty hunters gets more than he bargained for when he discovers the group in hiding.
No bad language, no sex, not much violence, and a nice love story with children involved. The characters were fun, even the bad guys. Some action moved the story along.
Excellent narration by Ms. McCulloh, although the little girl’s voice sounded too young, in my opinion. Good pacing and distinctive accents really helped.
"Liked it.. more action packed"
I just LOVE Karen Witemeyer books, they are so easy to read and her stories are cute and so so adorable, this book was more action packed than the others, though no big problems are there but there is the part of running for your life thing .. it was weird to read about this kind of plot in a christian fiction book
but I liked it nonetheless
