Summary

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course! Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate.

But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

Great story, awful narrator!

Although not published in order, this is the first installment of the Argeneau Vampires series. A great start to a well loved series - great story line, sexy interplay between the characters, plenty of laugh-out-loud-so-everyone-stares-at-you moments and an ending that makes you want to listen to the next book. I'd easily give it 5 stars BUT Victoria McGee has to be the WORST narrator ever! Sounding more like a cliched voice-over for a 1970's porn movie, she has no inflection, all her characters sound the same and she speaks at about half speed. If there was another version of this I'd snap it up like a shot, but we're stuck with boring Victoria. It is a reflection on how good the books are that I'd rather just put up with her than miss out on a cracking good listen.

Good Tale but Terrible Narrator

What did you like most about A Quick Bite?

I read lots of vampire books but this is the first time I have met this explanation for how Vamps came in to being. Thoughtful good tale.

What didn’t you like about Victoria McGee’s performance?

She didn't develop any character voices - very breathy voice got the feeling she was trying to sound sexy. She would put me off other books.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Best Birthday Present Ever

Any additional comments?

Liked the story - can see possible development of these characters.

Terrible Reader

I had looked forward to this series because it sounded quite promising but I must admit that I gave up after 2 hours of listening, because the reader is an absolute catastrophe. Totally monotonous voice, not even a hint at different voices for representing the different characters. I was really annoyed since I have never before encountered such a bad reading quality. It's a pity because the story sounded quite promising

He's not dessert—he's the main course!

I got this audiobook because a friend kept raving about the series, and I wanted to see what she was on about.

Each book follows members of the Argeneau family, that have been around for centuries...well they are vampires after all!

I have to admit...I enjoyed it!

This is a fun quirky series. Well written with a good set of characters and storyline. And Victoria McGee does a wonderful job at narrating it.

Amazing story so-so narration

Loved the book version of this and happy to say I loved the audio too once the narrator didn't sound so robotic.

Disappointed

I gave this book a good few hours but it just got too cringe-worthy. The Character definition is poor - lots of characters introduced in a short space of time with nothing really to tell them apart. The Author keeps describing the lead character as 'smart and intelligent' but considering she's supposed to be centuries old she's quite the opposite, silly, stupid and a bit wet around the ears.

This book had so much potential, put it is predictable and immature.
