Summary

Sandy Shortt has been obsessed about where missing things and people end up ever since the disappearance of a childhood friend 20 years ago. It has even motivated her to become a private investigator, attempting to track down missing loved ones and giving devastated families hope.

So when she finds herself one of the missing, stuck in a strange place with people who vanished into thin air years ago, she wonders if she has found the answer to one of life's greatest mysteries. But if she has, will she be able to return to life as she knows it? If Jack Ruttle, her latest client, who is mystified by her disappearance, has anything to do with it, she will.

"There's more than a touch of fairytale about Cecelia Ahern's novels...thanks to a liberal sprinkling of magic." ( Glamour)

Lovely book

I read this as a child and again now, I loved the the concept of this story! Would make a great film too!

Interesting ideas but didn’t love it

Poignant story about the effect missing people have on their loved ones or even those who knew them. Raised a lot of startling facts about the statistics of missing people and told it in a way that was quite moving. However half way through I thought it got a bit fanciful and for me I lost interest. Only my second Cecilia adherne book bit won’t be deterred. Oh and the silly music between chapters got on my nerves. Loved the narrators though
