When a hurricane blows through town and threatens the future of Olivia Clark's animal shelter, she publicizes her desperate plea for help to the masses. Aid comes from a surprising source: Chloe Homestead, Olivia's ex-girlfriend from 13 years ago and the only girl Olivia has ever loved. Chloe, a self-made millionaire, offers to finance and manage the shelter's repairs and operations - a gesture Olivia is in no position to refuse.
Working intimately together to provide loving care to homeless animals, Olivia struggles to keep her composure in Chloe's fun and flirty presence. As Olivia's walls start to crumble, the past catches up to them. Chloe has a dark secret that she's been carrying around for 13 years.
Will Chloe's secret threaten the future of the shelter and the relationship she has worked so hard to restore?
This book delves into the selfless world of dogs, animals, puppies, animal shelters, philanthropy, and family.

Definitely not by the same narrator and possibly not by the same author.
Yes I would try one more.
The twist was totally obvious from very early on
I first came across this book on kindle a little while ago and loved every page if it. So I was thrilled to see this reimagining of it.
The relationship between Olivia Clark and Chloe Homestead is like poetry. Suzie's customary enjoyable, lyrical narrative is lovingly maintained in this unabridged version, which preserves the enjoyment of the original story and makes an essential addition to your library.

This story should have been emotional powerful and moving. But all the parts that should have been emotional or dramatic were filled with whiplashing emotional and moral stances that just left me wondering what any of them were really feeling. Honestly it felt like it should have been a love story between Chloe and the brother with Olivia as the complicated emotional issue that kept them apart. Chloe even says, He made me strong and stand up for myself while your kindness and control made me weaker everyday I was with you.
The big confrontations throughout the end were also bizarrely carried out. apart from the above statement Chloe basically said that Olivia never really loved her and just transfered her pity into love. And yet her love is real? She entered that confrontation like someone trying to make a stand and cut ties not someone trying to explain a difficult and hurtful time to someone she loved and was supposedly trying to win back. At every turn it was made to be Olivia's fault, everything was her fault and everyone else was just paying for her failures.
And Melanie was a character that confused me as well she kept giving wildly differing advice and attitudes towards love, bisexuality, commitment, and herself.
So just confused and a bit frustrated at the end of this one.
"don't waste a credit plz trust me"
the narrator is bad along w the audio quality to much background noise. you can even hear her phone vibrate n receive email. then there are massive blank audio spaces it's not the narrator taking a pause the audio just stops for long long pauses in the middle of the story with out even an announcement of a new chapter so your left wondering what's going on n wondering if you missed something. the actual story isn't good either way to much detail in some spots n not enough in others. I'm confused about all the rakey treatment talk to seems more like an advertisement than moving the story forward. I've listened to over a 100+ audio books some horrible some great but this is the first one I haven't been able to finish I finally gave up on chapter 15. plz don't waste ur time or money
"An enjoyable story read by a good narrator."
Yes. I would definitely recommend this book, the story is a nice one. I really liked the characters and was pulling for them from the beginning. Plus the story is filled with animals that just make you smile.
Olivia. Because she has the biggest heart and really cares for the animals. She feels things deeply and is just a genuine & nice person.
No I haven't. I enjoyed her narration though and would listen to her again.
Olivia. Same reasoning as above. She is genuine and has a good heart. She would be a great friend.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading/listening to more books by Suzie Carr. I will also happily listen to this story again.
The narration was painful to listen too, the background noise, the hum of the audio booth and the lack of emotion in her voice.
I read the book and enjoyed it a great deal and decided to purchase the audio version.
Love Suzie's books but will never buy an audio narrated by Clara again
"not worth my credit"
I feel robbed. This book was hard to get through mostly because of the narrator. I had a hard time following the storyline which was too simplistic and not enough background it got on my nerves. I would not bother with this book either paper War by listening to the narrator in the words of this book and the characters.
"I like the story"
Ok so i had read a couple reviews but I never go off just other people's opinions i like to try out all kinds of books so I bought this book in audio I noticed some people had put that they felt like the author put to much unnecessary information example it's not an exact quote but pretty close Chloe and Olivia are looking into each other's eyes and chloe is taken her to couch and they are going past the copy machine past the desk past a stack of papers at this point they should already be on the couch haha and she does it a couple other time but overall a really enjoyed the story as for the audio part I'm really sorry but the narrator was not great i loveeeeeee audio books cause i can listen to them at work but I hate when i get all excited to by a new one and i have to fight to keep my focus on the story cause it's being read badly sometimes it gets better but not always all in all thank you for your books I already have a couple more on my KU
"Great Love Story"
This is a great book. It gives you look at the coming of age and dealing with things that some kids deal today. I loved it!!!
