Summary

A librarian, a warrior woman, and a love story that's out of this world....

Holly tells herself that the reason she hasn't asked her girlfriend to move in (after four years of dating) is that she's too busy - but it isn't true. A very book-obsessed librarian, Holly has buried herself in so many romantic and magical stories, that at night, she dreams of a woman who will sweep her off her feet - something her indifferent girlfriend has never done. But one night, during an unusually vicious storm, magic and romance appear in Holly's backyard in the form of a mysterious, gorgeous woman...wielding a sword.

The dashing stranger's name is Virago. She claims that she's a warrior on the hunt for a great and terrible beast; that she, and the beast, slipped through a portal from their world into ours. Holly isn't sure what to believe, but she is now responsible for a (possibly crazy) swordswoman who is bewildered by modern-day conveniences like escalators, but not by the chivalry of sweeping a woman off her feet.

Can Holly help Virago find her own world again, or will that falling-in-love thing get in the way? And, of course, there's the tiny problem of the beast Virago wounded that is now seeking revenge....

A Knight to Remember is a light-hearted, fantastical romance that will take you on a journey you'll never forget.

A whiney teen story

This is possibly the worst narration I have ever had the misfortune to have listened to, I was relaxing having decided to listen to a good book, selected this, and after a few chapters which describe RenFairs and how this bookworm decided to out herself whilst still in school which wrought her menace and bullying for soo long, she decides she must immerse herself in a good book to bring to life a female Knight of honour....after a few chapters I became irate, and in doing so wondered at my mood, that's when I realised I was listening to a teenager whining on and on and on....I just suddenly felt the need to STOP! NO MORE, ENOUGH! I couldn't take any more. I don't know if the essence of irk is with the story itself or the narration, or just a poor excuse for both..

Narration was Excellent

I did and didn’t enjoy the book.

I thought the narration was excellent by Rose Clearwater. When they went to the drive thru, I thought it was really clever how Rose Clearwater did the voice speaker and I have never heard this before in other books I have listened too.

The actual story was ok. I found that the book repeated itself a lot about how Holly was feeling, as there would be a few paragraphs about her feelings, then couple of paragraphs on something, then it was back to the exact same feeling she had 2 minutes ago, and I felt this took up most of the story. When it came to the action parts, it unfortunately lacked for me, as I thought there would be more fighting between Virago and the monster, meaning there would be more drama. The ending was good and you could listen to book 3 of the series if you wanted to carry the story on.
