Teagan Harper is barely ten years old when she finds herself orphaned and sent away to live at Raven's Peak, a Gothic estate on the seaside cliffs of Maine. Soon, though, her heartache and loneliness are tempered by a blossoming friendship with the only other child living at Raven's Peak: Kane Doyle, only two years older than Teagan and abandoned by his mother. Over the years, the pair grows inseparable. First they're pranksters and confidants, but eventually their feelings change, and best friends turn into soul mates. On the cusp of Teagan's departure for a university in Boston, they share a glimpse into their happily-ever-after and make promises of forever.
But Teagan and Kane's engagement and dreams of the future are shattered when Teagan returns home to find Kane gone from Raven's Peak - and living with someone new. Devastated and heartbroken, Teagan cuts ties with her beloved adoptive home and tries to move on with her life. But years later, when the shocking truth behind Kane's betrayal comes to light, Teagan must decide whether to embrace her new life and let go of her past once and for all, or fight for her dream life with the only man she's ever wanted.

Not the writer but the narrators were good
American accents and little else.
Disappointment that I had spent money on it.
The characters had no depth. I did not feel that I got to know them. The two central characters were totally unbelievable as was the plot. I gave up on it. I get the impression that sugar (people were always eating cake, cookies or ice cream) sex and beautiful houses is what this author thinks sells books.
I read this book at first. I loved the story so much I thought I'd try listening to it the second time around. I still love this story by L.A. Fiore and felt it was empathetically narrated by both Cris Dukehart and Will Damron. It is a story of love, life and challenges and the choices taken. I would certainly recommend this read. Outstanding!!
"Words CANNOT explain how good this book is"
I absolutely LOVE this book, it has happiness, sadness, yummy sex scenes, twists and turns, I found myself pausing or fast forwarding to know what happened then going back and listening to what I missed. It made me angry and happy, I felt my blood pressure rising and I got to the point I told my entire family to leave me alone because I didn't want any interruptions. I will listen to the is book over and over again it is a must have!
"2nd book by this author that I really enjoyed"
The story telling leaves me with all these emotions, feeling every moment with tge characters.
I enjoyed this more than the previous one and I loved that! A beautiful story.
A very sweet and moving story delivered by wonderful narrators. Parts of it had me tearing up and other parts made me laugh. Great story.
"Story dragged a bit"
Overall I thought the book drug on a bit. At times I really enjoyed it but the initial relationship of the main characters seemed contrived. Although the circumstances that ended their relationship made sense the journey back seemed to take forever with one two many bumps in the road. Also at times I thought the bumps were so more vivid sex could be included in the book.
"Good but obnoxious at times"
I just had to keep reading (I listened to this book during my commute to and from work). For the most part I liked it, but I got annoyed by the sex. When I read a few reviews that talked about the sex scenes I was like "oh come on", but after a few, I was like: really? Again? I ended up skipping many of them just to get back to the story.
I did find some of the characters internal struggles a bit much at times. They were both so unsure all the time! I kind of wanted to shake them both and get them to just look at the big picture!
In the end though I did finish it but it's not one I'll read (listen to) again.
I struggled to finish...just seemed too drawn out. Not big on some language use. Just not for me.
The story was captivating. You can picture yourself In the story and feel the passion, the hurt, the joys. This book was hard to put down or stop listening to. I love how it ended. It was such a great book. Can't wait to read/listen to more of this authors books. Definitely a new fan!!
This was a long ride but one you will forever remember. LA Fiore books get better and better each time I read them. The development and relationships between her characters draw you in. Highly recommend this book!
"Loses its way"
Left out any attempts to describe sexual encounters - repetitive, and very boring had to keep fast tracking forward - descriptive essay could have belonged to a teenager.
I would have loved this story to have remained true to itself.
Childish voices as at times.
The storyline was an excellent idea very Jane Eyre - a few novel physical encounters would have been fine but not to go on and on. There was a lot missing around character development and it was very fascile
Some maturity required.
