Mia has lived a life full of harassment, for an affliction not many understand. She thought college would be different, her escape, after all, people there are more mature, right? She was wrong. A rebellious girl, Vee, saves her from a bad situation and teaches her that every single day is a gift. A romance blooms between them that not even time can erase. This is the second book in the Music of the Soul series, all books are stand-alone novels.

I loved 'Music of the Soul', which is why I decided to buy this.
I also have this in my Kindle library, and one advantage of the audio is it's not blighted by the editing errors. Admittedly compared to some the errors aren't too bad, but they are annoying.
The story itself was a nice little romp. And although tissues might be required, I felt the end of the story really didn't work. It seemed very rushed and a bit unbelievable, that's what gets the lower rating.
Narrator did a good job, the only problem I had was hearing her talk and wanting to put the words from 'Music of the Soul' to her voice. I got around that problem by making sure I had a decent gap between hearing that audio book and listening to this one.Yes, that's how much I have listened to 'Music of the Soul' because I'm getting to know the words off by heart.
An added bonus as far as I'm concerned is the fact you don't get a book bogged down by unnecessary erotica. For whatever reason far too many stories seem to be no more than soft porn these days. I know erotica has its place, but I hate when you read/listen to a book expecting a drama/thriller/western/crime and you end up with it falling into nothing more than the soft porn category.
So for those of us who don't mind a bit of erotica in the story, but hate when that's all a story ends up as, books like these are a breath of fresh air.
"It Bites Deep"
I'd read the reviews when I chose this book and I realized that I was gonna be crying. Of course I've cried when a family got their house repaired on a DIY show. Sure enough I was puddling up thirty minutes into the audiobook. This was a heartbreaking, heart opening story. Though at one point I considered dropping the rating to a four due to the over the top sentimentality that is the epitome of lesbian romance novels. Then the inevitable ending that the book had been building towards since the halfway point and I knew that this was a five in spite of the flaws. The sentimentality was past over the top but I'm told by a reliable source that 18 year old girls can get that way from time to time. When we finished the story and finished crying, we agreed that they're times when a little over the top sentimentality is just what you need. I related to her stories about two movies; Brian's Song and Field of Dreams that always got to me. Sometimes it's important just to share a good cry.
Well this story will make you laugh, cry and love freely. Highly recommend this book.
Never listened to a book before this. Was surprised by how well it was narrated.
I like that this story is like a journey, it has its highs and lows and takes place over time since she is telling a story of her past along with getting some of her current life.
Loved how Pamela was able to keep me into the story and how she used her voice to make each character different and not have it all just run together. You could tell which character was talking by how she played them. Very well done
The end of the story is a real tear producer. Had me and my sister crying. Then the last chapter you are happy it gets a light and promising end.
"I loved this book"
The fact that I was able to listen to this book while I did other things made this a great experience.
I loved the relationship between V, Mia and Vicky. the feelings that were projected when Mia and Vicky saw each other again was amazing.
No I have not.
The entire book was extremely moving.
I can't wait to get the other books on audiobooks so i can rehear their stories hands-free.
"hold on to your heart"
A Deafening Whisper is one of the most heartfelt book by Schubach, reading this book was good but listening to the audio book was incredible . Lorence did a wonderful job.

"Another hit for Erik"
A very interesting story with a sweet but sad twist. At least the author leaves us with a happy ending. Love this guy's work.
This book is one of the sweetest and heartfelt books I've read yet. I'm not one who cries and this book had me weeping like a baby. The love shown between Mia & Vee is so captivating, I wished it would have turn out differently. The bond of friendship & family displayed is touching. Erik Schubach is one of my new favorite authors!
