"I never thought..."
So, KA is ALWAYS an automatic DL. Always. But this one just wasn't for me. I made it through about two hours. I don't know. Just bored. Nothing happened in all that time and I just had to turn it off. 😒
"I loved it"
I was really nervous about starting this book, I didn't think it would hold my interest. But I was wrong, this book is everything you come to expect from a Kristen Ashley book....and then some. It had an interesting storyline, characters you can't help but fall in love with...and a couple that will drive you crazy. I laughed a lot through this book, Olivier was hilarious and incredibly alpha, which I wasn't expecting. Amelie was sassy. They both weren't afraid to show their vulnerable side and work through their issues. I think they are a perfect match. It's a sweet, sexy story that will leave you wanting more. I am so excited for the next book in the series.
Lizbeth Gwynn's narration was fantastic, I'm sure this is the first narration of hers I've listened too and I'm hooked. She brought the characters to life and made the reader feel apart of the story.
"Love Kristen Ashley's books. And the subject matter didn't bother me. BUT..."
.....it seems I'm not into male submisives. Although I will listen to the second book. Because again, I like Kristen Ashley
"5 The Deep End Stars"
Wow, this was not what I was expecting but it was at the same time. I LOVED it first of all.
I loved the way Amelie is in this book, the way she talks the way she holds herself. She knows her own self-worth. But she is looking for something or someone and she is choosy and she is allowed to be.
Then Olivier comes in to the Honey Club and it was like magnets. Amelie knew he was hers. And not in the love at first sight kind of thing. It was more of an understanding he was who she has been looking for and vice versa.
I lovvvved that we have such an Alpha male being a sub. If anyone can do Alpha its Kristen Ashley but to also make him still be a MAN and submit, yum.
I am not a huge fan of Domme’s, not because of anything they do or don’t do. I just could kind of take them or leave them but the way Amelie is as a character I think I would defiantly read more Domme’s if they are like her.
I loved it, can’t wait for more in this series. Another outstanding listen by Kristen Ashley and I am a fan of Lizbeth Gwynn’s narration. All I can think to say is MORE PLEASE! <3
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
K.R she rocked this one. It was a look in the life that many people are into. I was enlightened with this story. That we all search for that ONE. Sometimes we find them and 9 out of 10 never do. This was a great story with the struggle to be who you are and meeting that person that really fits. Great story , though I'm not into the BDSM life I can respect it. It takes a lot of openness and trust to achieve.
Lizbeth was one of my favorite narrators.
"Just OK. It's good, but not great."
I love love love Kristen Ashley... but, this book was just ok, in my opinion. This will be a short review.
It's a very mild BDSM love story. Maybe I'm just getting jaded, but, I expected way more excitement, feelings, twists, etc, and this book falls short. I would even call it blasé. It just doesn't have teeth, nothing to grab onto, not much substance really. There are way better novels by Kristen Ashley, I've listened to most of them and never been disappointed, until now.
The story is flat-lined throughout... it never gains momentum and is very predictable. However, if you want a mild, simple (very simple) love story that lasts 15 hours (with lots of filler details), then this book is for you.
The performance is good, to an extent, not great with the male voice... the narrator makes the males sound pretty dorky. But, she has a very smooth voice.
All in all, as I write this review, I'm realizing how much I really was disappointed. Sorry Kristen Ashley, I'll eagerly await the release of your next book! Bring back those Colorado mountain men, or Burg men and women... those are Fabulous!
In conclusion, this story is a female Don, meets, big, tough, newbie Submissive guy, who catches her eye (right away), they do what they do, The End.
"Some BDSM is fine but this is ALL BDSM."
I love, love, love all Kristen Ashley's books. They make me laugh, they make me cry and about everything in between. This one didn't do much of any of that for me. I'm sorry Ms. Ashley...
Yes, I have listened to some of Ms. Gwynn's other performances. I think she does a good job.
"Best Kristen Ashley book ever"
It's true. I have read almost all of her books and up to this point my favorite was Motorcycle Man. But this book takes her storytelling to a whole new level. This book is sizzling hot. Not a lot of character development, but what you get instead is pretty amazing. I never would have guessed Kristen Ashley would write a heavy dom/sub book, and it took my by surprise (I mean all her books have strong alpha males, but this book puts the woman in the power position, and I thoroughly enjoyed it - every word. I can't wait for the next in the Series. I'm guessing it will be Branch's story. Sweet mother Audible, get that book released!!
"wow hot hot hot"
love the book I thought it was going to follow the same storyline as some of her other books. this book took it to a whole nother level. can't wait for the next book to come out.
"Good but not for me"
Well this was a good story buy way toooo much BDSM for me. I'm ok with a little, but I feel like this book is for people that are in the lifestyle. That person isn't me.
