My cock has an appetite. A huge and very particular appetite: blond, curvy, and preferably not a fucking liar... (Although that's a story for another day.) As a high-profile lawyer, I don't have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online. My rules are simple: one dinner. One night. No repeats. This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less. At least it was until Alyssa...
She was supposed to be a 27-year-old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive. She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades. But then she came into my firm for an interview--a college-intern interview--and everything fucking changed....

I struggled with some elements of this, it was very well narrated so no critcism there, but the love story was based solely on a lack of trust and a lot of arguing that was somehow remedied with sexual harassment and predictable sex (I mean who restrains a woman by pinning her arms above her head - when a firm grip th the shoulders would suffice. This happened EVERY time - predictable....). The lead lady seemed to spend an awful lot of time either being whingy or breathless again predictable...
That said the bare bones of the story was very good, and a well paced story line.
The story is so well written and it flows at just the right pace. It was interesting to learn more and more about cocky Andrew as the series progresses. The author has done some good research and created an exciting story.
Andrew was my favourite character because I could imagine this handsome sexy confident cocky man dressed in sharp suits. He had some of the best lines I've read in a book.
Yes, but I had to listen to it in two sittings because I had other things to do.
I loved the narrators, Sebastian York is really good at narrating these cocky alpha males and Erin Mallon did a good job too.
Without doubt, one of the best trilogies I've had the pleasure of reading, but the audio version gave me a whole new experience! It is a fabulous trilogy! Thank you Whitney G!!
I loved this, it had so much going for it, I had times of laughter, heartbreak, and some of the lustful scenes were fabulous. It is an honest, feel good book that I couldn't stop listening. Sebastian York's narration was wonderful as always, and Erin's captivating narrative really made you feel good.
I have only heard the audio edition.
God! Where to start! Everything, I think, every moment, every conversation between Aubrey and Andrew are off the charts hot and are fuelled with so much sexual tension the result is EXPLOSIVE! I couldn't say something without giving away some important part of the story, but all I can say is this book blew my mind, Once I started I couldn't stopped and did the whole 8+ hours in one sitting!
This is the first I heard from both and I thought they were remarkable, Erin was brilliant with the voice transitions. Sebastian has ruined me for anyone else.
Yes and I did, the story is compelling, it flows easily and you are constantly at the edge of your seat wanting to know what is happening. I absolutely 100% know the story is perfection but the narrators brought it to life.
I recommend this book so much to all lovers of romance/billionaires/angst and Alpha males. I am only upset it has taken me too long to uncover this wonderful Author. It certainly won't be the last I hear/read from her. THIS IS PURE CLASS.
loved the intensity and how it wasn't all about the sex. wished the narrators didn't pretend to do the voice of the opposite sex. would have preferred atleast Aubrey and Andrew delivering their own lines. overall story line had me tearing up. so glad it all ended happily too. everyone loves happy endings. 😄
thoroughly enjoyable book
without giving any of the story away, it was the twist with the wife
Are you ready for this .....
great book, he is so blunt it makes you cringe, read brilliantly as always by these narrators
Loved this series. Fantastic box set. Andrew, a partner in a law firm is a complete jerk. A true alpha male whose rules are simple: One dinner. One night. No repeats. He meets Aubrey via a professional lawyer chat site, but Aubrey, who has her own secrets, refuses to meet with Andrew, after all, it's against the rules. But, as luck would have it, Aubrey ends up interning at Andrew's law firm. Sparks fly, rules are broken and lies are discovered, it turns out that Aubrey wasn't the only one hiding the truth. Truly loved this series. Love that Aubrey finally gets a backbone and love that Andrew eventually gets a heart. Lots of chemistry and lots of twists and turns. Love the writing and love the characters. Highly enjoyable.
I can't stop listening to this book.
I want a second book as I need to hear more about what's happens to them.
again super narrating by Sebastian York I just can't get enough of the books he's involved in as he brings the characters alive!!
Erin mallow was also enjoyable to listen to.
you will not be disappointed if you purchase this book. xxx
"FOR HER HE BROKE HIS OWN RULE 'NO REPEATS'"
Well if you're like me an you love a brooding badass alpha Hero then you're going to love Andrew. Not only is he all that but he has a dirty mouth, a 'one dinner, one night and no repeats' policy and a heart as cold as ice..... but as the chapters slowly and deliciously unfold, his heart is slowly brought back to life by Aubrey. He tries everything he can not to feel, not to care and not to love again because of the scars left on his broken heart caused by events in his heartbreaking and tragic past.
It wasn't the snappy dialogue, the hot sex scenes or the great narration that pulled me in, no..... it was Andrew..... I wanted him to feel again, to find happiness and for his once happy heart to find peace, joy and to finally beat again after six years of being dead. But Aubrey, the only woman that stood a chance of doing it, was constantly being pushed out of his bed and shown the door.
Worth a credit? I devoured and savoured every word.... the cold and bitter words, the harsh words that were meant to push feelings away, the sexy dominant lovers words and the pleading heartfelt words of need and love that eventually changed everything. So YES another well-written, enjoyable, entertaining and creditworthy listen that, thankfully, has no cliffhanger endings.
"Steamy, sexy and dirty"
yes, it's a good listen
It has been awhile I enjoyed a good read. This book is different in a sense that both the heroine and hero had strong personalities. They know what they want and go for it. I love the chemistry, the easy banters and steamy sex scene. Furthermore, I love Andrew's dirty mouth and I love Audrey strong will. This book is worth a read
"I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS BOOK!"
I seriously loved this book. It was a lot like Tangled by Emma Chase but the difference for me is that Andrew wasn't a jerk just because he was a guy and could be, he was a victim of the past. I do love the male POV books since they are few and far between. I liked how honest Andrew was, he did lie by omission but he always told the truth about what he said & wanted (mostly lol). Aubrey knew from the beginning what he was like (because they were friends) but she also loved to push him past his comfort zones and knew he needed the push. The sexy scenes were SUPER HOT, if you like a dominate dirty mouth man you will love this! Also, there were a few tears too ;)
The narration was FABULOUS! I always go for Sebastian York but Erin Mallon is a very exciting discovery! I am now searching for other work by her! If you haven't listened to this audiobook I HIGHLY suggest you do!
I give the narration 10 stars!
"Great Dark hero but the heroine was lacking for me"
I actually enjoyed the book more then I thought I would... the narration was fabulous and that added to the enjoyment a lot! The beginning of the story reminded me a lot of Beautiful Bastard which was a big A+ for me... So I really got into it and was totally excited! However...:0( by the middle of the story I started to get a little annoyed with the heroine... I mean come on at the beginning she was strong gave it as good as she got it but by the middle she almost turned into a doormat! No! No! No! I started to really fear for the novel but luckily she did get her backbone in the end. Yet still the book lost some of it's momentum for me. Would I recommend it? Sure. I have never read anything by this author before and would not mind giving another one of her books a try.
OMG..Now this is a WELL.WRITTEN.BOOK!
@58 yrs of age, I"ve read a lot of romance books, but this book has it all. Very well structured, fresh storyline, great dialogue & the audio was excellent.
Andrew hands down. He had me laughing out loud and also crying my heart out. This book is one the best. I loved his sense of humor, bluntness and just plain raw, no nonsense personality.
They brought life to the characters. I felt like I knew Andrew and Aubrey through their delivery of the written word.
Absolutely! I couldn't put it down. Love the concept of having 3 books in one. The flash backs in time and then bounce to present day kept the book engaging.
"It started well..."
BUT, there is always a but haha. This is the first time I have ever written a review for a book, I felt compelled to write a review because I grew increasingly irritated as the book went on. Honestly the first few chapters were great, they really drew me in and I loved anticipating how it was going to unfold. However as soon as the characters met things completely changed. Alyssa seemed like a spunky, witty girl. The kind that could hold her own. Aubrey however is a whiny entitled woman-child. Every line sounds like she is going to start crying, and actually does, I couldn't keep track of how many times she cried in this book. Andrews alter ego Thoreau doesn't seem to change his personality much. No, where Andrews inconsistency lies is when he goes from being a complete asshole to.. stalker asshole? "I HATE YOU! so i'm going to follow you to your house and eat you out." uhh what?!
The next biggest irritation was the dialogue. The conversations were just so completely unrealistic. I am not asking for much here but can you please make it just slightly plausible? and can we all just take a second to laugh about a 'curvy' ballerina? hahaha
With all that said the narration wasn't bad and the sexy times were entertaining. If you can get this book on sale, go for it. Other then that I wouldn't say its worth a credit.
"Female Narrator ... Ugh!"
Female narrator ruins this one! Great story and I always love Sebastian...but the female narrator is awful. I couldn't take the constant loud breath she had to take after everything she said.
"I can not believe this book got a high rating"
I chose this book because of Sebastian York. I love him. After about 2 hours into this story, I knew it was not for me. I listened the entire story hoping it would get better. However, it was painful to finish. The amount of times Aubrey told Andrew to never speak to her again, then the next chapter they are hooking up again was endless. The amount of times he was so cruel and disrespected her was just shameful. There were many times she would just randomly fall asleep and then wake up having no recollection of what happened between falling asleep in his car, and being carried away to the hotel or house. That felt like a cop out for how to transition from one scene to another.
Then Aubrey had no depth at all. She seemed like a dumb blond to me. The narrator felt breathy and whined for the entire book. Her character had no personality at all.
I understood how there was no feelings behind Andrew and he just wanted to screw Aubrey. However, even at the end, I was hoping there was more "love making". It just never felt like there was an emotional connection between the characters. Everything was always so raw and physical and that was it. Don't get me wrong, I like a good rough scene, but this just felt dirty to me. Even his proclamation of love felt very emotionless and more factual.
Oh BTW, when Andrew flat our sexually harasses Aubrey before she knows who he really is, which was appalling. Such a horrible message to send young women who are starting a career for themselves.
I would love to have heard Andrew's emotions more for Aubrey once he realizes he loved her. All he said was he missed her and was trying to figure out how to get her to forgive him.
The very last line of the book was the best.
No. If you want a book where the intern and the dominant boss fall in love, listen to Beautiful Bastard. The female is strong, feisty, and holds her ground. And in the end she owns her man.
I love Sebastian York so much. He is my all time fav male narrator. However, in this story, it sounded like he had a lisp or was slurring a bit. He didn't sound like himself.
"THERE IS NO DOUBT THIS BOOK WAS GREAT"
YES. This was a well written, captivating, intriguing and SEXY story. I would not only recommend this book to a friend but to anyone who loves sexy alpha males and strong, stand-your-ground women. The entire story held me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next.
I liked that Aubrey was strong, stood her ground most of the time, quit playing games with Andrew but also was understanding and tender.
Well, of course, Andrew and Aubrey. I believe this is my first listen with Erin Mallon but Sebastian York never disappoints.
Most of the book was moving. There was very little in the book that didn't move me in one way or another.
