Summary

A sexy blond woman lying on a tropical beach whispers, "The setting is perfect, but then erectile dysfunction happens again." This is Viagra's bold, new shift in advertising. No more guys, both young and old, horsing around as the announcer suggests that taking Viagra is as common as swallowing an aspirin. Now the company wants women to order the drug. Susie found the details in The New Yorker, in an article by Ian Crouch. She says this approach is more honest - and similar to the first ads for Viagra, which had Bob Dole simply stating that the drug was helpful.

Next, the dark history of the speculum. Yes, that medical device used in women's pelvic exams has a shady past. An article in The Atlantic explains that evidence of the device exists as far back as AD 79, in Pompeii. And some surviving medical texts from that time reveal tests that were done on slaves and prostitutes. The ethics of early speculum practices are unnerving, but the stories are true.

Then, it's on to "What's New on Audible". Susie has an audio sample for us from a great book that's all about bondage: Best Bondage Erotica 2014, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. Included are stories of domination, submission, spanking, and other highly imaginative acts that involve rope, handcuffs, straps, and more. Lily Bask and Kyle St. James narrate.
