Publisher's Summary

I have no idea why she auctioned off her virginity for a cool mill. Regardless, I'm now the proud new owner of a perfectly intact hymen. A lot of good that will do me. I have certain tastes, certain sexual proclivities. My cock is a bit more discriminatory than most. And training a virgin takes finesse and patience - both of which I lack. Sophie Evans has been backed into a corner. With her sister's life hanging in the balance, the only choice is to claw her way out, even if that means selling her virginity to the highest bidder at an exclusive erotic club.

When Colton Drake takes her home, she quickly learns nothing is as it seems with this beautifully troubled man. Being with him poses challenges she never expected, and pushes her to want things she never anticipated. A sinfully seductive erotic romance where everything has a price and the cost of love is the highest of all from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan.

    Any additional comments?

I am writing this review based on Book 1 and 2 together

I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading a different twist on the millionaire meets the naive virgin story that has been told many times. I found myself really excited to see what happens next.

I loved that it wasn't an instalove story. Even thought it takes place over a few months the author showed the time passing so it wasn't always feeling like one day immediately after another.

I loved that the reaction to the "secret" was reasonable and not blown over the top and I loved that the resolve was also reasonable and didn't consist of either of them loosing themselves or doing something they didn't want to do.

Now for what I DON'T love...

I have a pet peeve with books that are two short novellas that should have just been one book. Why are we doing this?? It seems to be a trend that I'm seeing now and it is irritating. I don't feel like this book should have taken up TWO of my audible credits and I don't think I would have wanted to pay the almost $30 I would have had to pay for both books. I would love for someone to explain why this is being done outside of making more money for what should be one book.

Second the narrator had a great female voice and did great with the female parts, however I really wish she had a different tone for the male voice and would commit to it each time. There were times where I would have to pause the audio to do something else and then I would come back mid chapter and have to try to figure out who was speaking between the two main characters. I like when I can vision the male based on the voice and the character the author was writing should not have had a voice so feminine.

This could have been a 5 star book for me if not for these two things.

    "Dejavu"

As I was reading this, I could not get past the feeling that I had read this before. This book starts off like CL Parker's "A Million Dirty Secrets: Million Dollar Duet". However, I thouht Parker's book better. Also the narrator, Ava Erickson, can't narrate a male voice. At times I could not tell who was talking. Sophie or Colton. There are no real twist or turns. I do not love this book. The basis of the story is being desperate for money and auctioning herself off. Nothing new or creative about it. For me it is just average. I had gone ahead and bought the other two books so I will press on.

    "Entertaining story not great."

I enjoyed the story and it was an entertaining read at the reduced rate. I recommend this audible book at sale prices but not at full price.

Narrator had a cute voice and was good with the main character's voice but fell short at the male voices and supporting cast. Half the time I thought I was listening to Sophie speak and realized it was Drake or another character.

    My Review:
    Overall: 4.0
    Performance: 3.75
    Story: 4.0

Ooh, the set-up for this story was so good...so forbidden and intriguing especially given the way that things worked out between Colton and Sophie.

She...needs money to pay for her twin sister's experimental cancer treatment. She's still a virgin so she auctions off herself to become someone's love slave for 6 months.

He...has an interesting back story that's slowly revealed, but I loved Colton so much. He could have been a real jerk, but no matter how he tries to hide it...he's a good guy.

Although the story is set up to be really sexually spicy, this installment isn't as much as you would think. Honestly, I liked that about the story. Despite their beginnings, their relationship develops very slowly and honestly. I loved that so much. It made the story even more intriguing.

Warning: this book ends in a cliffhanger. If you're paying attention, it's not that much of a shock (at least it wasn't to me). The good news is that this is a very short story, so you can immediately grab the next book and read on. In fact this very easily could have been released as a single full-length novel.

    "Good but cliffhanger"

This book was good but I felt should have been one book. The storyline is good but short. It felt like the story was just split to soon.
Over all it's good and enjoyable.

    "CLIFFHANGER ALERT!!!!!"

Kendall Ryan is an author that I usually find somewhat entertaining ..... this book falls into that category. The story description sums up the story until the twist that you do not see coming!! Hence the cliff hanger!!! I HATE cliffhangers!!!! Will I read book 2 ? That is open for debate. I did not feel the need to listen to this story in one sitting ..... and since I do have an aversion to series books that are not stand alone I may pass.

In any case if you do not mind series stories this is the read for you!!

    "Short but intense!"

Yes this is another millionaire claims the virgin story, but I like the twist of how Colton and Sophie are bought together.

My only peeve would be that this is a very short book and as I can see that it is part of a series, I probably would have preferred it to be released as just one audiobook. The narration however is awesome. I really like Ava Erickson as a narrator. She is perfect for character

Overall a satisfying listen for me and I am eager to see how the story plays out in the next book

"OK but not believable. too short and left hanging"

way too short. left hanging at the end. i wouldnt have used a credit if i had known you need the next book this far in. should have been 1 book not two. obviously just a money making scheme. it tends to stray away from the initial story and youre left thinking ummmm ok did you forget what it was you were writing about? very far fetched. he changed way too quickly for it to be believable. if he had've come around to having feelings for her slower it would have made a better story.
