Veterinarian Seth Davies comes to Senaka, Wyoming, looking for peace and anonymity, trying to escape his past. He's always been a target for trouble and pain, and Seth has had more than his share of both. Kasey Whitedove takes one look at Seth and assumes the worst. No white man could love animals the way the mostly Cheyenne population expects, and Kasey makes Seth's first days in Senaka more than unpleasant.
Then an accident puts Kasey in the uncomfortable position of eating crow - and helplessly desiring Seth - despite the danger of Kasey's life as a werewolf and Seth's stressful secrets. Chasing Seth down and keeping him safe from his past has just become Kasey's most important job.

love any good yarn from Thrillers, Crime to fantasy and romance.
amongst the most gripping, in the gay romance stories I think this is easy and very enjoyable listening
you cannot help but feel for Seth, and unexpected twists to keep one listening
I think Jeff Gelder's performance was fantastic, got the characters and the suspense perfectly balanced
I could feel with Seth, his anger, his sadness and his pain. also his joy
Good story with a lot of sex and romance but talking about men half wolf half human. It's better for appreciate it to be a fan of Twilight's kind of story.
The great writing and wonderful narration.
The way the story left some tangents open so the author can give us more stories. I want to read about the brother and the best friend.
"Sweet, predictable story but horrible narration"
Maybe, sweet but predictable shifter story. But I would tell them to read the book, not get the audio version.
The narration was very monatone and boring. No emotion at all; everyone pretty much sounded the same.
Not really, I should have read the book.
It's obvious a sequel was contemplated and I would buy it, but not the audio version.
"Wonderful potential, disappointing delivery"
Very disappointing.... really needs some more lessons and practice before narrating any more books.....mispronunciation, pausing where not appropriate, and not pausing where should have, some mumbling.
the story was good...would have been better with appropriate narration.
IF the narrator was reading the actual text, and it was hard to tell, then the book needs a better editor as well... there were some editing continuity problems.
"A very good listen"
This was a very good listen. It was nothing spectacular like Feral Sins, but it was pretty good. I really didn't like the racial bigamy but I got over it pretty easy and so did the characters. I am wondering what is going to happen to the brother and friend more than Seth and the Sheriff. All in all, I did enjoy the story, the smex was even good, but this is most definitely a credit and not a buy.
Narration was very well done. Gelder is often a good narrator.
The book is good in that it has a solid plot and a sexy, alluring romance between two people who share a very strong emotional bond. The author does well in keeping us in suspense, not telling us exactly what emotional trauma that Seth has endured until it is time, and she doesn't rush too quickly into the romance which is a plus if you're looking for something other than mindless, heated sex in the first few chapters.
The pet names and the descriptions are out of hand, as well. Kasey often calls Seth 'pup', and this is endearing at first. When he begins to throw it in after every sentence, however, I just had to start skipping over it. I couldn't handle it. Often Kasey is referred to as the big Cheyenne or the tall Cheyenne while Seth is described as small to the point that I feel as though Seth is two feet tall and Kasey is a hulking giant when he's supposed to be slender and slightly built, just a bit taller than Seth. Warning: in their heads they will also call each other 'my sheriff' or 'my mate'. The mate one is very repetitive, which is something you can see in the preview of the story when Kasey rescues the black wolf after 'she' jumps off the cliff by accident.
All in all, I would say that the book was worth what I paid for it. I did actually enjoy the story, even if there were some unfinished bits at the end and some loose ends to tie up. **spoiler**(Nick, for example, and his mate never actually get together. I'd be interested in a sequel.)**end spoiler** While the book could use some editing, it was not a bad story. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sugary romance with some pretty heated sex scenes. (Those needed no editing as they were actually perfect.)
