Not enough. Catherine Pope has never been enough. Every man she has ever loved abandoned her - from her father to her fiancé. She finally accepted the fact she would never be enough to hold any man's heart and soul.
Then Catherine met Jackson Cole.
When her world literally collided with the sexy former Navy SEAL, everything she always believed is turned upside down and left scattered. He made her feel alive and desirable, consumed her with fierceness and loyalty - which completely unnerved her. Jackson got her in a way no one ever had, giving him the power to destroy her.
If she breaks down and gives him what's left of her battered heart - will he protect it? Or will Catherine become an irrelevant part of yet another man's life?
Will she get the one thing that has always evaded her - to finally be someone's beloved?

I enjoyed the story, the narration was also fun. Hollie (narrator) captured the emotions perfectly with her words.
Kat was a likeable character but at times she really got on my nerves. the same could be said for Jackson, at first I loved him but towards the end he started to annoy me.
And the ending? what the hell!? not happy with it at all, I hate cliffhangers LOL. I look forward to reading book 2!
I despise cliffhangers, but luckily the follow up is already available...which I am moving right along to. I've listened to Consolation and Conviction (AWESOME), which is a bit out of order, so I already have a feel for these characters, but I am enjoying hearing about Jacksons story!
"A Beautiful Love Story"
This story is filled with sweetness, sadness, friendships and romance. There's just enough angst and intrigue between both wounded characters to pull you right into their world. Good read/ listen.
I had read the book & loved it. I loved how the narrator showed so much emotion as she was reading the story.
I have 2, when Catherine falls into Jackson's lap & when Jackson gets shot.
This is the first audio book of Hollie Jackson's to hear. She did such a great job with the emotions of the story.
I hated to have to cut this book off, I wish I could have listened in 1 sitting.
"It Surprises me..."
Yes. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the emotions of Catherine to a level where I can emphatize with her. Even though the theme is not new, the author's use of imagery and diction put a new aura on the story.
When Catherine read her dad's letter to her.
"A Totally Awesome Experience!"
Yes!! The story is really hot and heart-warming at the same time. Plus, the narrator's great performance made the experience so remarkable. I think I can still hear her voice when I re-read the book.
Wow, there's a lot! For one, the first chapter of the book was so heart breaking. I think my heart broke together with Catherine's! And the emotional portrayal of Miss Hollie's voice made it so heart-felt. Also, that part towards the end of the book where Jackson was so scared that Catherine would leave him. <3
This is my first audiobook so no. But she was definitely awesome!
Let me try. Hmm. Maybe, "Everybody wants to be someone's beloved, to belong to someone and be loved by that someone completely"
It was really great experience!
"Cheated - To Be Continued???"
I CALL FOUL!!! A romance novel is not supposed to end halfway through the story. Yes it's a good story, although I find Katherine a little on the whiney side. And some of the things Jackson says and does reminds me of textbook controlling/abusive men (which I find disturbing in the hero) however he is believable as one of the good guys. I get so entirely frustrated with purchasing a book only to find there's not a happy ending conclusion. If I wanted novels like that, I would change genres. Any book that does mot complete the story I purchased should state in the description " This is book does not include the happily ever after ending". Otherwise I think I'm getting at least one full story with the option to purchase additional story beyond the happily ever after or perhaps the story of the roommate.
I don't like purchasing only half a book.
Very intense a love story that hits all the emotion one after another it is cliff hanger but the second book is out and I can not wait to read it
"To Be Continued:"
I am a instant gratification woman and would never have read a book that is "to be continued!" That being said, I really enjoyed the book and characters and pray the sequel ties it all together.
"The story was ok?"
A little wishy washy, but the worst part was the narrator. She is just not good at narration. Couldn't finish the book.
I was only able to listen to 9 mins. before I had to turn it off. I have purchased over 30 audible books and have never had a concern about the narrator. They have always enhanced the books and made them more enjoyable. Sadly this book didn't have a chance.
