Dee has always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real her. She's content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn't need a man. She's terrified that all it will take is one person to make all her carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. The second Beck sees Dee, he knows that she will be his. He sees past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. She doesn't want him to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but he makes it his mission to find out. Dee can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop Beck from coming after her. She's it for him and she knows it. She's just too scared to admit it.
Contains mature themes.

Loved this book from beginning to end. Had me crying through most of it How much heart ache can one person have. Beck it a true gent
"MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE"
In this series, Beck is right along side the other two, Axel & Cage. This story was much different than the other two but equally as great.
Beck. It was astonishing how he just kept hanging in with Dee; how he knew who she was and could see through her "happy-go-lucky, over-the-top glee" to her pain and had the patience and tenacity to not only wait her out, but gently and sometimes not so gently push her beyond her masks.
All of it throughout the series.
Yes, but not possible.
Not sure why we (meaning those of us who got caught up in this series) had to loose one of our own (no spoilers) but I guess if the rest of the books get published in audio, which I'm praying for, we'll find out.
"IT TOOK YEARS BUT BECK FINALLY GETS HIS HEA"
You know what you're going to get with this series..... hot Alpha types, a drama filled listen, hot sex, passion and a group of former US Marines who love each other like brothers and will do anything for each other. But the one thing I wasn't prepared for this time was the bitter heartache when the author kills off a main player..... that was a tough pill to swallow. I thought Harper Sloan was brave to do this and to shake up characters and to introduce other characters - so kudos to you...... even if I hated it.
Dee is feisty but she has had a hard life and life just keeps kicking her in the face with more heartbreak until there's nothing left except a mask cleverly erected to protect her from anymore hurt and pain but behind it she's withering away. Her 'so called' friends can't see it but Beck does and he's desperately trying to hold on to her, to show her how much he cares and that he'll be there no matter what but sometimes love just isn't enough and Dee find out you have to hit rock bottom before you can climb..... then soar.
This is a heartbreaking story but it's also one that shows us when a Corps Security guy falls in love it's forever - no matter the cost, consequences or outcome, it's unconditional and Beck really had to hold on and ride the emotional wave that was Dee in order to be there at the end when it all came crashing in around her. Plenty of sex, humor, romance by the bucketful, suspense, drama and angst as Dee stirs up trouble which leads to a lot of danger, tears, shocking events and a death. Good character growth with Dee too.
Dual POV, good narrators, a story that goes back in time then spans a few years giving fans of the series up-to-date news of the previous couples, a strong but vulnerable heroine and a sexy, loyal and caring hero and together their explosive in the bedroom, the kitchen etc., etc., etc.
Worth a credit? It may take me a bit of time to listen to these books as there are so many good books being released everyday and sometimes I'm in the mood for Vampires, or Billionaires, or Wolves, or Bikers..... well you get the drift but it's a series I will always come back to because they're all one big tortured happy family. Creditworthy - you bet.
"A strong man"
I loved how Beck never gave up on D and his love for her even though it took him 2 yrs. to get through to her he was always there. I love the character of these military men so strong and full of promise in this story.
"Still Love Harper"
I still love you Harper. Great narration Great Story! Not sure Harper could write anything I wouldn't like.
oh man..the emotion!! beck isnt as alpha male a cage..but damn the emotions in this book will rock you to your core!! still a drool worthy book and i cant wait to get to the next one
"Good next in the series"
This story is a bit respective of the first in the series. You will enjoy the book much more if you have the back story of the first book in the series
"Wow, Sexy, Hot, Alpha with patients"
This is an erotic, action, romance book.
FINALLY. The story of Beck and Dee. I would HIGHLY advise you to read the other books before you read this, I do know they can be a stand alone, but you are missing out on the characters and more hot alpha male and we can't forget about Shay.
Dee has secrets and the only person who has been there through it all is Beck, but the dark secrets are about to come to light. Friends, family and relationship will be tested. This book has more secrets that sheds a light on the time Dee and a certain ex-husband's encounter. The bedroom is hotter than ever. Who knew that Beck was that good. Dee's work has a secret as well, one so dangerous it places her life in danger, but the risk of losing Beck is greater.
Beck has been patient, years he waited, years he picked her up and for years he stood by watching her destroy herself and become more distance. But if there is one thing Beck is good at is waiting for his reward, and Dee is his Ever After. When his one patients snaps and the secret he has been holding on to about Dee come crashing down on the entire Corps family, they rally together scared and bruised, especially when they learn of a secret that Dee has been hiding right under their noses.
Awesome book, love it and it is getting better.
"Calling All Alpha Lovers"
Definitely getting my alpha male fix in this series. The stories are intense and sexy and move fast. My only complaint this time is Beck's voice - the accent sounds forced and is honestly a bit much. Other than that, I enjoyed listening to this book on audio.
"The Whining drove me nutts"
There is a lot of ups and downs in this book and the author does an amazing job articulating them. I had a very hard time listening to the female narrator whine almost all of her portion of the story. It took away from the emotion of the story.
"First Thing I noticed"
The first thing I noticed is the male narrator used 3 different voices for Beck...one when he was talking [some of the time], another when he was describing what he was feeling & the third was a mixture of both and yet not....it was very confusing. I understand the descriptive voice when he is describing events happening in the story..that is to be expected. However, when he is speaking or expressing HIS THOUGHTS or feelings it should be the voice that was established for BECK. And the third voice used...well who knows where that is coming from. I don't think I noticed it in the other two books as much but this one was obvious & all over the place.
As far as the book itself, I like the plot but some of the details are hard to believe. I know that many people react differently but the overall immaturity of the girls for their age is scary. With that being said,,,I like the overall premise enough to listen to the series.
