Summary

Betsy Devonshire has settled into her new home in Excelsior, Minnesota, as owner of the town’s needlecraft shop. So why is she suffering from terrifying nightmares? She hasn’t a clue—but thinks maybe it would help to get away for a while. With her friend Jill in tow, she heads north for a “stitch-in” at a remote, rustic lodge. But her nightmares only get worse—especially after she finds a dead woman no one else had seen. Then the body disappears—and she knows she won’t get any rest until she untangles the mysterious threads of the crime....

Very good

I am really enjoying this series of books. The central characters are very likeable and it is very nice to be in their company. The books are very well written, and are written with real intelligence. I feel sad when each novel ends because they are so enjoyable.

A Typical Cozy Mystery

An enjoyable addition to the needlecraft mystery series. A new setting, with our heroine sleuthing on vacation, provides a new raft of characters. Suspending belief is, as always, required, but this is a pleasant listen.
The narration is, however, something of an acquired taste. The delivery is quite stilted and wouldn't suit everyone. I found that, once I had become used to the style, it didn't spoil the book for me.

Gentle and enjoyable.

An enjoyable listen but I didn’t realise, stupidly, that there would be so many sewing references. Nice and gentle as murder mysteries go.

Not quite so cosy a Cozy.

This one’s a weird tale. Curious but not overly interesting.

There are very few nice, interesting or endearing characters and that, coupled with Betsy’s angst, is quite wearing.

A very clever plot, but not an enthralling or entertaining one. This is my least favourite thus far. Perhaps they should stick close to home (or go to Europe)!
