Harlow Torrent, part-time journalist and full-time slip witch is pulled into a murder mystery when the skeletons of a man and a girl are uncovered on Truer Island.
Seeing visions of the past that are all too real and ghosts who are becoming more solid by the day, Harlow is trying to keep her online newspaper running, dealing with her meddling witch family and working out what to do about the very handsome Jack Bishop being back in town.
But Harlow might be out of her depth when the murderer sets his sights on her!

I loved the way she performed all the different characters. It was easy to listen to and well done.
I liked this book better than the first as I knew the characters and could concentrate on the mystery. I really loved how Harlow could see ghosts and how she could see visions of the past happening around her. I found that to be a little bit spooky, very atmospheric and thoroughly enjoyable. A great listen.

this is the 2nd book in the Torrent witches. This a great series. It is funny and there is something always going on. This time it involves murder, ghost. The past meets the present. It seems Harlow and her cousins are always getting into trouble. This book is no exception. i recommend this series if you like good clean funny stories with a touch of paranormal, I received this book free for an honest review. I am glad i have found this series. I hope the rest of the book will be put in audio form.
"A mystical comedy mystery"
Overall this second book has more enchanted mystical "witchy" dialogue and plots, in comparison to book 1. Book 1 was mild on the spells & sorcery and heavier on getting to know the quirky characters. So, if you aren't into fantasy or the sort you might want to start at book 1! There were also paranormal stuff going on, but it's done very innocently.
That being said, I feel like I really have grown to like these characters, because they are truly one big quirky family. The dynamics are hysterical, and Aunt Cass even strikes a bit of terror into me! They're a lovable clan, and because of that I didn't mind more of the mystical aspects. I also believe this has to do with the humor and comedy that sets the tone for the whole book. It's all lighthearted and comical, as is seen with Harlow's cat Adams who speaks and has the sassiest attitude!

"Strong second book in the series"
I didn't read the print version, but I really enjoyed the audio version of the book. I found Ms. Duke's narration to be entertaining and very well done.
I especially liked Holly, the little ghost girl. I was really pulling for her to find out what happened and to be able to move on.I
Her character voices were well done, you can always tell who's speaking in the book.
"Don't miss this one!"
murder, witches, humor, romance, suspense, family-dynamics, ghosts, magic
Fascinating read! Sure, it's somewhat lighthearted, romantic, and sleuthy, but there is this whole concept of being in two or more time spaces at once. The publisher's blurb gives the basic clues, and spoilers would be a disservice to both author and reader. You can't regret buying this one!
Natalie Duke does fantastic at audio interpreting, and adds to an already addicting tale.
"This family cracks me up"
the quirky family
Honestly, I listen to these books because of the family dynamics. The mystery/story is just a side note for me. Keep 'em coming. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.
Loved it! Narration was perfect. The humor used throughout the book just got better as one got to know the different characters. The romance was sweet and did not overwhelm the plot. It was just a lot of fun from beginning to end. I eagerly look forward to the next one!
