Heroes or villains? You decide....
In the 1960s, London's gangland was ruled by two men: Reggie and Ronnie Kray. Building an empire of crime by intimidation, extortion, and terror on a scale never seen before or since, they feted stars of stage and screen, sportsmen, and even politicians to gain the respectability they craved.
On the March 17, 1995, Ronnie Kray died suddenly of a heart attack while serving a life sentence for murder. His funeral was watched by over 50,000 people. Five years later, Reggie Kray died of cancer, thus closing a particularly dark chapter in the history of London's underworld.
Read by acclaimed actor Martin Shaw, this is the true story of their rise and fall.

I have read this book but love this version Martin Shaws Cockney and Irish accents is superb
Both reg and Ron
Loved their early childhood and the escapades with the army
Listening to this I feel I'm there in that period it's very engrossing
the best work on this totally addictive story, accurate & adeptly capturing the atmosphere of the time when the twins were London's version of Al Capone. compelling stuff
I enjoyed this book it was better than some books about the twins. But still not all is as is wrote I spotted one error and a big piece of krays history missing but all in all a good book
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook.
It was well narrated and the accents/voices were good.
As the new Tom Hardy film name suggests - the Krays have left somewhat of a Legend - but it was good to separate what is myth to what is truth. I feel better informed now after hearing this.
I will be recommending and want to learn more on this subject.
I loved this book it gives a good insight into the Kray's and their life.
if you are interested in the life of Kray's this is a must listen.
i was really looking forward to this book but i was terribly disappointed.
the book spent a lot of time on the early years, especially on their father's life and his 'activities' in crime.
the latter years of the kray twins seemed to be sketched over somewhat to me.
i would have liked a larger percentage of the book put onto this era of their lives.
i shall be exchanging this book for one i really want to keep in my library and read over and over again. i'm afraid this one doesn't do it for me.
"great story aand it is true"
yes - very interesting
exceptional - has a great voice to listen to. He gives each character a personality.
I find the Kray twins fascinating and this book captures their story very well. Enjoyed it so much listened to it for a second time. Great narration!
Enjoyed the back story of where the twins came from and about life during mid-century England
only issue was with the performer was the constant swallowing/spit / mouth noises. ..can't these be edited out? His overall reading was great and all the different accents were wonderful
