Publisher's Summary

The Atlantic: A young woman sailing solo across the Atlantic makes an incredible discovery - a man narrowly clinging to life in the open ocean. But the desperate survivor is more than he appears. He is a Kidon - an Israeli assassin - who forcibly commandeers her boat with a new destination in mind: England. There the two are forced into an uneasy partnership as they run from a secretive and lethal organization. The resulting wake of destruction brings Scotland Yard to the hunt - searching for an accomplished killer and a woman whose life has been capsized.

One Shot: The Kidon soon uncovers the true enemy - a manipulator responsible for the tragic event that shaped him to be what he is. There is only one solution. With deliberate, inescapable precision, he will hunt down the one who created... The Perfect Assassin.

    "Wrong Reader!!"

Story spoiled by awful narration. Wish I hadn't bought the other two in the series.

    "Reader not appropriate"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

Here is an example of an inappropriate match of reader to book. NEVER have someone with the voice of a soccer mom read an assassin novel! Try as she may - she can't muster the low bass for male characters of high testosterone levels.

    "Audio version has terrible reader"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Possibly the book but not the audio version.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy McFadden?

She is probably the worse choice for an action novel possible. She reads it as if a "Valley Girl" were reading a book for school children. The emphasis is often at the wrong places making what should be a serious reaction comedic. I cringed at the reading throughout and finally gave up.

    "Good story - inappropriate narration."

Well developed and interesting plot that keeps your attention; unfortunately, narration fails. Scott Brick or a narrator with a style similar to Brick would have been much better.

    "Have to agreee"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, good book with great story line

What did you like best about this story?

The woman saves the man, morally

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy McFadden?

Has to be a man, I have to agree with everyone else, a woman narrator, for a main character who is a man, makes listening to the book very hard. If the book itself, was not such a great piece of literature, I would have traded it back in.

Was The Perfect Assassin worth the listening time?

Yes it was, once again, great story, but female narrator, grates on the listener

    Any additional comments?

Please pass on to these authors, that the sex of the narrator, really needs to match the main character's, otherwise, it makes it hard to listen to, or imagine.

    Story
    "Average at best."

I did enjoy this book, but it left a little to be desired. I think that the idea behind the story is a good one, and the execution was adequate, just nothing special. I was never captivated, and never really bored...just an average listen. I didn't like the narrator for the most part. She did a fine job when narrating the story line, but her voices were a little over the top. She was quite dramatic in her voices, and used very stereotypical characterization.

Definitely not a waste of time, but I probably won't listen again.

    "HORRIBLE!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Hire a professional reader to read the novel.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ward Larsen again?

    No.

What didn’t you like about Amy McFadden’s performance?

I would cringe if I had to deal with the reader in a social situation, mock her in a professional situation, and return the audiobook if I paid for her "performance".

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger...I didn't purchase the book with the expectation of returning it...Simply HORRIBLE narration.

Only got through approximately 45 mins because of the reader I couldn't get any farther.

"If you can't do an English accent, don't try!"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the premise of the story, so yes.

What didn’t you like about Amy McFadden’s performance?

She nearly ruined this book for me with her terrible english accent.

This was an ok book to waste away some time. I struggled with the reader and her attempt at accents. It took awhile for the story to get going, but once it did it kept me somewhat entertained.

    Story
    "wrong reader"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Needs a different reader. I don't think it's the readers fault, I'm sure she could do a good job with something like a fantasy or Sci Fi with younger characters.

If you’ve listened to books by Ward Larsen before, how does this one compare?

This is my first, difficult to take it serious and stay focused on the story as the narrator is distracting.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amy McFadden’s performances?

Sure, with the right kind of subject and characters.

Could you see The Perfect Assassin being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Hard to say, I haven't finished listening to it yet. Hate to keep hammering the reader, but I'm having trouble sticking to the story. I have the Assassin's Game by the same author with a different reader. Hopefully he a better fit. If not I'll return both for refunds.

    Any additional comments?

Not now, maybe if I can endure the rest of the book.
