Summary
Commander Adam Dalgliesh is already acquainted with the Dupayne Museum in Hampstead, and with its sinister murder room celebrating notorious crimes committed in the interwar years, when he is called to investigate the killing of one of the trustees. He soon discovers that the victim was seeking to close the museum against the wishes of both staff and fellow trustees. Everyone, it seems, has something to gain from the crime. When it becomes clear that the killer is prepared to kill again, inspired by the real-life crimes from the murder room, Dalgliesh knows that to solve this case he has to get into the mind of a ruthless killer.

Easy listen
What made the experience of listening to The Murder Room the most enjoyable?
I liked the back stories you get on all the characters. Well written and well read by the narrator.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Murder Room?
When I realised it was actually set in present day!! Oddly, when purchasing the audiobook I imagined it being set in the early 1900's. I had to rewind and start again when I heard someone died in 2006!
What does Daniel Weyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Good character voices! easier to remember what each person did further back in the book when the voices differ so much.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The chapter in the train station near the end of the book.
Any additional comments?
Love PD James books, you wont be disappointed by The Murder Room

Enjoyable P D James
The reading of this book is excellent. It is very clear which character is speaking. The storyline kept me guessing, even though Inspectors Dalgleish knew before the denouement who the killer was! I did not and was somewhat surprised to find out. I enjoyed this book very much.

A great London mystery with a kinky twist
Excellent writing style! Enjoyable and more contemporary crime mystery with Inspector Dalgliesh set in London. A very interesting story which takes you to the secluded and rich area near Hampstead Heath Park in London. The book is rich in characters and action, there is a kinky and unexpected twist in the end before the murderer is uncovered. There are also notes of romance in Inspector Dalgliesh's life which add a nice nuance to subdue the harshness and cynicism.

A slow starter
I really struggled at sticking with this book to begin with - partly down to a rather flat narration style. Happily after a few chapters I stuck at it and was glued to it right to the end. Definitely worth a read, but would benefit from a more lively narrator.

THE MURDER ROOM
Brilliant!!!!
The storyline was great, P.D.James has a brilliant time confusing you and making you suspect someone else. I haven't heard this story before I saw it on audio initially listened to it in November 16 but I couldn't remember it to I've relistenedto it and now I understand it better so I thought I'd better edit the review.
if it's your first time Luis renin to P D James I would suggest you start with book 1 as if you don't this book spoil things for you.

Good story, well read
This was an enjoyable story with more character backstory than you normally get from an author. There were some good little red herrings and good plot twists. The reader was superb.

Sublime plot superbly eloquent
P D James at her best. Well crafted plot from a gifted writer. Subtle social satire woven into a murder mystery, expertly narrated to create a very enjoyable audio book.

Lovely to revisit
I'd read this book sometime ago but was tempted to download as a daily deal and revisit. Exceptionally well read by Daniel Weyman was thoroughly enjoyable. Have gone on to listen to some other Dalgleish gems.

Tedious and not worth the wait
First half was frustratingly slow. The second half was not worth the wait and boredom. Normally I enjoy PD James, but not this time.
