Summary

John Saul is at his terrifying best as he takes listeners into the vast, dark labyrinth of tunnels beneath Manhattan, home to a bizarre collection of outcasts, and introduces a secret society that uses (and stocks) this underworld as a private hunting ground, with its residents as their prey.

When 21-year-old NYU student Jeff Converse is convicted of a brutal rape and murder that he did not commit, his nightmare has just begun. Jeff is just the latest innocent man to be made a target of the society that controls the underground hell called the Manhattan Hunt Club.

A prestigious club near Wall Street, its membership includes many of the city's political and financial elite. Bored with more conventional sport, some of the MHC members can't resist secretly indulging their desire to hunt the most dangerous game in the world: humans.

I loved this story

A great insight into the underbelly of the homeless in a large city, that are forced underground to remove them from sight.

A well researched story that although fiction could very well happen in the future. When the courts system fails the law-abiding citizens into proper justice and allows felons to be released with little or no punishment for the crimes they commit, then vigilantes will spring up to dish out their own punishments on the felons.

I loved this book, the characters and their lives are shown in enough detail, from the poorest homeless person to the wealthiest member of the 100 club, that they are brought to life and act in such a realistic manner and attitude.
Well worth a credit, you won't be disappointed as the narrator gives the characters substance, with just a change of voice he enhanced the story and kept me riveted.

Good story, read well but poorly edited.

Good story, well read. However, the editing is very poor. Many of the lines are read twice with slightly different infections. This unfortunately takes you out of the story and was a bit disappointing.
