Summary
Will Robie is an assassin with a mission. But whose side is he on?
Back in DC after successful missions in Edinburgh and Tangier, assassin Will Robie sees his latest assignment, to eliminate a US government employee, go badly wrong. What had she done? Or what did she know? Robie is now a wanted man. But it seems that he’s not the only one on the run.
Young teenager Julie Getty is devastated by the inexplicable murder of her parents in their home. Who wanted them dead and why, is a mystery. But Julie is smart enough to believe that their killer will come after her. Robie and Julie meet when he saves her from an attempt on her life as they are trying to leave town. The police investigating the hit start to take an interest in Robie. He’s particularly attracting the interest of Special Agent Nicole Vance, who believes that the two cases are connected.
Robie finds himself in a dangerous position as he is tasked to investigate a crime at which he was present. Does he need to change sides to save lives - including his own?

Great story
Was gripped from the beginning, really enjoyed twists and turns and not too predictable. Only issue was the occasional sound effects and 'dramatic' music, was a little distracting!

A Fantastic Listen from start to finish
Would you listen to The Innocent: Will Robie, Book 1 again? Why?
I would be tempted to listen again, but instead I am going to listen to book 2 in the series. The narration duo have really good chemistry and is a major plus. I am really happy that they have done the other books in the series as well!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Innocent: Will Robie, Book 1?
All the major moments are memorable, from bus confrontations to café conversations. I'm not spoiling anything as I don't want to ruin any surprises, but trust me this book is full of great moments.
Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favourite?
I enjoyed all the characters narrated by both, picking one is very difficult. Orlagh Cassidy's performance of all her major characters was brilliant.
Any additional comments?
I'll keep this simple, just listen to this book. You won't be disappointed.

Baldacci at his best.
Would you listen to The Innocent: Will Robie, Book 1 again? Why?
I loved this book having read it once and listened to it twice.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favourite character is Julie because of her attitude and waspishness; her interaction with Robie is at times very humorous.
Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favourite?
Both McLarty and Cassidy are natural story tellers and bring both of their characters to life.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
...more twists and turns than a worm farm!

Review
Enjoyed the content and the narrator. Only stopped giving 5 as ending not quite as good as I expected. Still recommended though.

Enjoying the new series
Bit of a Sean king style of character but I enjoyed the first book. Would normally go straight to book 2 but the new Amos Decker boot in the series has just dropped.

Really good book, had me hooked
Whilst I agree what others said about the sound effects being unnecessary, I didn’t find them offensive and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. On to the next..

Good ‘read’!
Well paced with interesting characterisation and an engaging plot. New to this author and I will certainly look out more, especially if there are further Will Robbie books, as it held my interest and I enjoyed both the story and the presentation.

First Baldacci book. Reasonably impressed.
Having never read a Baldacci book, I think that this book may persuade me to try at least another one. On the whole, it was fairly run of the mill stuff. It's quite formulaic but I suppose that's appealing to many fans of the genre. Men are handsome, muscular and brave; women are beautiful, sassy and smart. Kids are wise beyond their years. Everyone is at the top of their profession. It's all just the usual stuff.
Parts of the storyline was slightly far-fetched in some places but most things were wrapped up well enough at the end. The performances were fine and the main narrator had a suitable voice. The female voices were delivered by Orlagh Cassidy and was probably necessary since I doubt that Ron McLarty would have delivered a very good female voice. I would add that the dialogue seemed a bit disjointed in places where dialogue involving both narrators was involved. To me, it seemed obvious that both narrators recorded separately and it was spliced together post-production. I didn't care too much for the sound FX and atmospheric music and found it completely unnecessary. The B grade music cheapens the overall feel of the production.
I'm not quite sure which Baldacci book I'll read next. I'll have to think about it.

Clandestine characters
Excellent story with a solid plot. Well narrated and gives food for thought. How much of this is in the authors head and how far from the truth is he in the operation of licensed assassins? The rougher version of the British James Bond. Kept me entertained for a while.
