Summary

Read by Hugh Fraser who play Captain Hastings in the popular TV series.

Lucy Angkatell invited Hercule Poirot to lunch. To tease the great detective, her guests stage a mock murder beside the swimming pool. Unfortunately, the victim plays the scene for real. As his blood drips into the water, John Christow gasps one final word: ‘Henrietta’. In the confusion, a gun sinks to the bottom of the pool.

Poirot’s enquiries reveal a complex web of romantic attachments. It seems everyone in the drama is a suspect – and each a victim of love.

Insightful

A wonderful exploration of human emotions- love, loss, grief, jealousy, loyalty, and with a murder thrown in. Once again superbly narrated by Hugh Fraser.

Fantastic mystery.

Fantastic insight into human behaviour and motives. I could really relate to Henrietta being an artist myself; Christie completely understood the obsession to create and creative mind. Real page turner a thoroughly satisfying read.

Amazing narration to an ok story

The narration was on point as always. Christie always know how to keep her stories interesting, the characters are complex and the explanations are ok.

Just simply amazing

I love Agatha Christie and the way she writes bringing characters and storylines to life. Huge Fraser does the same as a great narrator. A story that gripped me straight from the beginning. Piorot is as amazing as always.

such a wonderful narration by Hugh Fraser.

such a wonderful narration by Hugh Fraser, I simply fell in love with the character of Lucy. I wouldn't have felt that way had I read the book myself, Hugh Fraser brings the characters to life in a way that my mind could never do. I love audiobooks for that very reason and I love Agatha Christie's beautiful winding stories, so easy to listen to and so satisfyingly neat and all tied up in a bow at the end with no loose ends. wonderful.

I love this.

Another great story by Agatha Christie, narrated superbly as usual by Hugh Fraser. No point in telling you the plot as the description already tells you.

Classic Christie

One of her books that I really enjoy. Great twist at the end and some characters and plot lines with real depth
