USA Today Best-Selling Series!
Just because she can see the dead doesn't mean Verity Long wants to spend her days hunting ghosts. Instead she's over the moon to land a marketing job at the local bank...until she finds her new boss dead in the vault. Even her ghost friend, Frankie, knows that's no way to start a career.
Relieved to let the police take charge, Verity steps aside, bound and determined to keep her ghost sightings to herself. But when she learns the main suspect in the murder is a very crooked, very dead mobster, Verity knows it's up to her to solve the case.
She teams up with her ghostly gangster buddy, Frankie, as well as the irresistible and charming Ellis, and the three of them search haunted mob hideouts, hidden passageways, and historic cemeteries for the facts behind the heist of the century - and a modern-day motive for murder.
Too bad uncovering the truth could very well make Verity the next victim....

This is my favorite so far. It seemed to be a little more hopeful, better rhythm and cadence. Seems there are many future options to take the story.
"Fun and entertaining"
The last one was better but this one was good also. I enjoyed the characters and how they are developing. I look forward to the next one.
This little mystery was so entertaining and made me laugh out loud. Verity and Ellis work so well as a team solving ghostly murders that seem to keep turning up in their small town.
"Fun and Entertaining"
While listening this book series you have a smile on your face most of the time. It is cute, sweet silly entertainment. I like listening books to leave the real world behind and that is what these books do for you.
There is usually a moment when you wonder how they will get out of their mess but mostly it'f fun.
This was an enjoyable story with relatable characters, and entertaining twist. The performance brought the characters to life.
I'm not sure if it felt like the culmination of a trilogy or the start of an ongoing adventure, but I sure hope it was the latter.
"Another win for the Southern Spirits series"
I always enjoy the play between Verity and Frankie and this book seemed to have more of that than the others.
I enjoyed the whole book, but like how Verity's relationship with Ellis is moving along.
I've listened to quite a few of Ms. Gilbert's narrations and I always enjoy them. She's very good at what she does.
"Still liking it"
Angie Fox has written a great cozy mystery. The series is an original idea. She's kept me wanting to hear more. Tavia Gilbert as always brings the characters to life. Although the Haunted Heist could be read as a standalone story, I highly recommend listening to the beginning of the series
"The Haunted Heist"
I really enjoyed the latest case that Verity, Frankie and Ellis had to solve. I love Lucy. Having such an unique pet just seems to suit Verity.
Ellis was very impressive when he actually stood up for his relationship with Verity. HIs mother is just vile. I am looking forward to her finally being put in her place. Hopefully that will happen in a future book.
I find it curious that Verity hasn't purchased an urn locket to carry a tiny amount of Frankie's ashes in, instead of carting around his urn.
"such a great series"
I am hooked on this series..definitely a must for everyone. The narrator is amazing and brings Veridy to life
"Each book in the series is better than before"
I have to admit this is my favorite in the series. I know I know I say that about each new book in this series but I just really love them. Haunted Heist has a great storyline and I loved having so many obvious suspects to include Verity. The author did a fabulous job of making each suspect have a motive and an opportunity to commit the murder. It gave the reader a good chance to really analyze the murder and try to determine who the murderer was. Ellis could not get any more adorable than he was in this book and I enjoy his scenes with Verity so much. Frankie the ghost was also very well developed in this story and we got a better understanding of how difficult being trapped on Verity’s property is for him.
Haunted Heist isn’t so much that different from the other two books but I just enjoyed it more because I have become really invested in the characters now. I really appreciate the value the author places on the ghost characters to give them a true place in the story. Angie Fox gives them as much time and detail as the living characters and it is nice to see the same ghosts return in each of the books. It makes the world of Sugarland, Tennessee a little bigger.
My favorite part of this book is that Verity finally made some decisions about her life and it was good to see her fighting a little harder to get back on her feet. I had felt in the last two books that she wasn’t really ready to pick up the pieces and move on but she seems to be on a good path now. It really gave the book a good strong ending.
I really like when the narrator for the series is consistent and Tavia Gilbert has really developed each of the characters in the Southern Spirits stories. Her characters are consistent and unique and her transitions between characters are exceptionally smooth. Tavia also does a very good job emoting a full range of feelings the characters are going through.
