Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Doll's House, the third installment of the Detective Inspector Helen Grace series by M. J. Arlidge, read by Elizabeth Bower and Scott Joseph.
A woman wakes. Immediately she knows she's not in the bed in which she slept. It's just the beginning of her nightmare.
Across town a child discovers a woman's body buried beneath the beach. Then another victim is found. Neither friends nor family had even reported either woman missing. How could their killer be getting away with murder?
It's chilling evidence that Detective Inspector Helen Grace is hunting a monster who's not just twisted but clever and careful. And as Helen struggles to understand the killer's motivation, she realizes that time might be running out for someone still alive....

I have listened to all three Helen Grace books in rapid succession - and the stories are fantastic. This - the 3rd - was just as good as the first 2. I felt total empathy with the characters of Helen, Charlie, Ruby and Sanderson - less with the Kerry woman! The last hour flew by with me holding my breath or gasping in horror for most of it.
Please be quick with the next one :)
I am enjoying the listener page as I find other readers recommendations very helpful and refreshingly honest prior to choosing a new book.
Having read Eeny Meeny And Pop goes the Weasel this is the third book where we meet DI Helen Grace and her Team. It begins when a body is found on the beach and thereafter they are on the hunt of a serial killer.
I love these books as the hero is female and jealousy of her female boss adds another element. Great characters and good narrator.
If you like a good detective novel look no further but I would start the series in the correct order so you get to know the characters.
Excellent waiting for the next installment!
I am not a literary academic but just love clever complicated gritty mysteries with strong characters. Such as Hayder ,Robotham & Jussi
I would recommend it to a friend as a good reliable detective novel
Easy to follow but with twists and turns well researched and a woman as lead detective ...for a change !
No but I would again very easy interesting listening voices well complimented
Yes ken to get back to it when I had to have a break
Will look for more books my this author and narrators
Glad to have found another reliable interesting author
I read Eeny Meany the first DI Grace novel audibles recommendation. Now I am totally hooked. The stories including the dolls house are totally consuming. I've listened to this whole thing in about three days. I will have to wait a long time for number 4 to come out how will I survive.
A little disappointed with this one, there was a huge plot hole (while not wanting to give anything away 2 people can't have 1 set of keys), there was lots of beginning and middle to the story but very little end.
Another good listen, but not quite as gripping or believable as the author's first two offerings, which I found to be excellent.
I have read all three of Arliigh's books and this one didn't disappoint. Nicely paced well drawn characters.
Fast becoming my favourite crime series, I hope for more.
Yet another hit from Mr Arlidge!
Totally absorbed me and couldn't stop listening! Great tale with heart pounding thrills, shocks and suspense.
Helen Grace is a great character, as are the others and as the story unfurls, they gets more and more captivating!
Could certainly be listened too as a stand alone bok, but read the others first - they are brilliant too!
I have listened to all of the Helen Grace books with relish and have just ordered the 4th on pre-order.
I enjoy reading but never find the time to pick up a book so Audible has been a great find! Addicted to good detective crime books!
I bought this after listening to the first 2 books and I enjoyed this book more than the first 2.
Great story kept me listening to find out what happened next! Nice easy listening - will be off to get the next one which I see has just come out - hopefully will get better still!
"Wasn't good until the last drop"
I was a bit confused by this book. After all was said and done, I felt there were far too many characters with too much time being spent on their individual plot lines which, had nothing to do with the storyline. It made it seem the author was trying to reach a word quota for publishing.
