Summary

The development of a major resort complex at the southern end of Pear Island, affectionately known as Breakfast Island, is turning the town upside down. Local residents, summer people, and mainland fishermen are all hopping mad that the peace of their retreat is being shattered. But who is angry enough to murder?

When a cabin cruiser explosion in the marina sets off a series of "accidents", Qwilleran begins to wonder if sabotage is involved. But he has his work cut out for him. There are plenty of suspects, plenty of motives, and plenty more "accidents" occurring. Can Qwill and the cats uncover the murderer's identity before they become the victims of one of the many mishaps plaguing Breakfast Island?

With Koko and Yum Yum on the scene, you can bet that the mysterious events on Breakfast Island will be exposed. But will it happen before someone else is killed?

Another tail . . .

I love these books, I’m re-reading them in order. They are a beautiful combination of detective story, soap opera and feline adoration. I also love the narrator, he has a great understanding of the right pace for these tales and his characterisations are excellent! I have no idea why Audible are issuing books read by another narrator, or why all of the books are not available.

I love these books

Beautifully written and incredibly well narrated, my favourite audiobooks of all time. My only sadness is not having known them sooner. I listen to these over and over again, especially at night and first thing in the morning ~ they’re like magic medicine on days when I feel poorly, anxious, or am struggling with insomnia. So comforting, witty, humorous, well paced, and engaging characters in interesting settings.

Enjoyable but slow paced listen

Really enjoyable but slow paced with not much action. Perfect for lazy Sundays but didn't have the pace or suspense I would like in a murder mystery
