Could Sabre's beloved brother have changed during his long absence and is he now seeking vengeance? Sabre risks her relationships, her career, and her life to seek the undeniable truth. Is Sabre's love for her brother overriding her sound judgment and if so, is there a final bullet with Sabre's name on it?

"Surprisingly excellent mystery/suspense novel!"
I had never heard of this series but thanks to Whispersymc for Voice and its low prices I decided to try it. I will now listen to all of this excellent series. Teresa Burrell in new to me. She is a superb writer.
The advocate is a lawyer and abused children's advocate. He brother, who is in the federal witness permission program, finds his life at constant risk.
Narration is excellent.
Good story. Witness protection doesn’t always work, and when it doesn’t, people die. This is my second trip with Teresa Burrell, and I’m not sorry I took the time. While it wasn’t as tense as the books I usually read, there was enough there to hold my interest well. Again, I’ll read more of her as I bump into them. 4 stars.
"This is the best reader of all"
This is the best reader of all. His voice and expression was great. I enjoy this one more because of his narration.
"Great thriller on a great series"
This latest book in Teresa Burrell's Advocate's series is narrated by John Bell. Her heroin Attorney Sabre Brown receives a call from her brother who has been in Witness Protection for the last 7 years. He believes someone knows where he is and that they are trying to kill him. Apparently he has been moved around the country from place to place trying to stay safe and hidden. After the latest incident he is on the run. He doesn't trust those protecting him any longer. So Sabre has to juggle her defence of children in juvenile court as well as find and protect her brother. Since no one can know where he is, including Sabre, she must use her Nancy Drew like Skills and her trusty Private Investigator J.P. to find where her brother Ron is hiding. Unfortunatly She is not the only person looking for Ron. Apparently every where he has been moved people connected to his case have been found murdered. Some in law enforcement believe Ron is the killer, Sabre must save her brother and prove his innocence without getting killed herself. This is by far the most thrilleresque book in the series. All the books have been great mysteries with danger and intrigue but this one takes Sabre and crew to a new level. I enjoyed listening to this book and narrator John Bell did a good job telling the stories. This is the first time a Male narrator has been used in this series, and maybe that did raise the level of intrigue in the listening, but I have to say I prefer hearing a female voice narrating this series. Overall the author was kept me interested in the characters and I am ready for the next book where there might be a little romance in store for Sabre Brown. I will have to wait and see.
This book was given to me as a gift for an honest review all six of Teresa Burrell's Advocate's series are available at Audible.com.
Some edge of the seat moments. I would recommend. No bad language or embarrassing scenes.
"Worst book I have ever read"
Stiff characters, lousy story line... I read 8-10 books a week....would not recommend wasting your money as I did
"A good book but missed the stories about children."
Missed the cases involving the children. Especially liked the Tubor character. So many unanswered questions related to him. Hope we run into him again.
"Desperately Seeking Good Editor"
While author Teresa Burrell is obviously talented, I believe her books are desperately need a good editor. Main character Sabre Brown was extremely engrossing as usual, but the plot was unrealistic and implausible for so many reasons.
Point # 1: Don't have a man old enough to be her father (18 years her senior) constantly calling Sabre "kid", then attempt to turn their friendship into a romance - it sounded creepy. As much as I liked PJ's character, his feelings toward Sabre felt too paternal.
Point # 2: If someone in Witness Protection is successfully being traced from state to state, then there's obviously a leak in the agency. Why would it take days of running around in snowy Montana before Sabre, PJ or Ron to figure out something so simple?
Although parts of The Advocate's Felony were extremely entertaining and humorous, my mind started to wander when Sabre & company spent the majority of their time driving around in blizzards looking for a place to hide.
I already have listen to this book several times
Absolutely just waiting to see what JP will uncover next and Sobs is going to get out of her predicaments
Yes of course
Teresa Burrell has a Mack for incorporating mystery, murder, romance , loyalty, suspense and humor into each and everyone of her books. I just am amazed how she does it
"The Advocate's Felony"
Teresa creates characters that are so believable. I find myself worrying about them while I'm listening to the audiobook . I can see them in my mind's eye and I know who I would cast to play them.
