A brilliantly twisty, 80-page novella from the number-one best-selling author of the Logan McRae series. Including an extract from his new Logan novel, The Missing and the Dead.
It's the night of the big Referendum, and all Acting Detective Inspector Logan McRae has to do is find a missing 'No' campaigner. Should be easy enough.... But, as usual, DCI Steel has plans of her own.
As the votes are counted, there's trouble brewing in the pubs and on the streets of Aberdeen. Logan's picked up a promising lead, but all is not quite what it seems, and things are about to go very, very wrong....

Praise for Stuart MacBride:
"New Logan McRae novels are close to the top of my unmissable list, and yet again MacBride delivers. His chaotic cop hero is at his best. Superb storytelling." (Sun)

"Skilful storytelling...strong characterization...both intriguing and engrossing." (Laura Wilson, Guardian)

"Ferocious and funny." (Val McDermid)

I run a personal ironing service, I listen to lots of audio books
Loved it, listening while I work, cannot wait to work. Characters brilliant and read wonderfully
Au de toilet....incontinence pour homme!! 😂😂
Best line in a book EVER!!!
Such a good little story, auntie Roberta is on top form as always!!
Only sorry it wasn't a little longer!
Macrae and Steel magic. I laughed like a drain all the way through. but the ending had tears running down my cheeks!
DCI Steel is the best. RG is the funniest crime writer with the most serious of stories but this is just hilarious. No one can match RG for descriptions even though some writers try. Roll on the next book and the next. I can't read them quick enough.
Luckily I didn't read this is public, or I'd've been branded a lunatic for laughing out loud! The only bad thing to say is it was over too quickly. Logan and Steel have become firm friends over the years, and this story just leaves me wanting more. Stuart Macbride is a great writer, and I urge you, if you haven't done already, to read the rest of the series, and give Halfhead a try too; I didn't think it was my cup of tea, but it was! Thanks again Stuart!
This is a bit short for the price of one point. But it is the best laugh I've had for a long time. When are they making a TV series? This would make the funniest part of all. I'm still giggling
I have been a big fan of this author but all his recent books have really disappointed me
