I am an avid multi tasker, I love to listen as I walk, ride, clean... Mostly love crime novels but have an occasional foray into other genre

    "Disappointing"

I have read many Harlen Coban books and found them to be well written and narrated. This one was a real struggle to get through it seemed overly long without much plot movement. The ending was implausible and convoluted. All this was not helped by a narrator who broke sentences into strange short phrases and then pronounced everything with an Australian rise at the end of each sentence!

    "Captivating"

I love the way the author writes intertwined stories that ultimately pull together. All the way through I was second guessing how it would all pull together and as ever Harlan never fails. I find with all audiobooks it takes a while to get used to the narrator but once familiar with their style it is addictive. I want to run and walk the dog all the time so I can listen to next instalment!

    "absolutely dreadful"

I have read and or listened to all Coben's books and was looking forward to this. The narrator has the most awful monotonous voice and completely caused me to be distracted from the gist of the story.... at a later stage I feel that I may read the book, and perhaps enjoy it better than in audio.

    "Good gripping tale"

A very good listen with many twists and turns and I didn't spot the 'villain'! All the characters were believable and well presented.

    "Best Coben so far!"

Loved that there where more characters involved in this story.
This has a modern Agatha Christie spirit to it, where you will get a surprising twist at the end.

I write short stories and love reading. I can't stand poor grammar though. I like most types of books but I don't like erotica or romance.

    "Made for television"

It's all right I suppose. it's one of those made for television books. A sort of CSI Miami or Dirty Harry type thing. As usualy the writing leaves a lot to be desired. Many times it seems to me that certain oft repeated words could have been avoided and some of it could ahve been cut out altogether. Too much pointlesx conversation going nowhere. The naration is so-so but if you like old detective movies or old hour long eppisodes of some nwe York cop on a case with doses of corruption and religious zealots then you might enjoy this. It's readaboe but not much else I'd say. It passes the time.

    "No Sam Spade"

I thought it would Sam Spade flat foot novel I ended up being so wrapped in the story I was snatching a listen while cooking or even the 5 min it takes to make coffee. Not the biggest twist at the end but keeps you guessing all the way.
