For Lorelei Warner, being perfect isn't everything it's cracked up to be. She did what her straitlaced parents wanted: Became a lawyer, married her college boyfriend. But since her husband ran off with another man and her career became a nonstop bore-fest, Lorelei has turned to her best friends and Fool Me Once Investigations to find fulfillment and adventure.
When a routine subpoena delivery turns up a dead body, Lorelei knows that solving the murder is exactly what she needs to boost her confidence - until private investigator Dallas Osborne walks in and takes over the case. Dallas has always rubbed Lorelei the wrong way. It's aggravating enough that he's a pompous ass, but he's also entirely too good-looking.
If she wants to catch the killer, Lorelei will need to loosen up and defy her parents - not to mention the law. And she'll need to partner with Dallas, working closer (much closer) to the sexy investigator than she ever expected.

Like the previous two Fool Me Once novels, this is both light and entertaining. No depth of characters and a very light storyline. The focus is on the death of a Millionaire and given the simplicity of the solution to the crime, the rest of the novel is quite pointless!
The main let down of all of these novels for me is, the overuse of profanity! Because I do not swear myself, it jars and doesn't seem to add to the story! Not in the previous books and neither in this one, despite Lorilei's inability to swear seems to be the true focus of the book.
These books form part of the Kindle Unlimited package and as such, although I would not use a valuable credit to purchase them, did not feel like a bad investment!
This is the third book, but I enjoyed the entire series. Fun listens. Books like this make me very happy with my Kindle Unlimited membership!
"We all need guilty pleasures"
3rd in a series, what could I do after reading the first two? The narrator does a wonderful job. I'm well past the age of target audience for this book, so I don't get all the aside jokes about fads and fashion, & I get irritated with the tired old plot where girl is aàall in love & lust & it appears the guy has been playing her and she is just so mad! As I said, the book is a little"young" for me. But the stories are funny and well told, & despite the murder solving mystery plots, light and entertaining. I know i will get a happy ending. Wait! There was no ________(spoiler) in this story like the last two!
"Cute, funny, too short - interesting characters"
Lots of close friends and family interaction. Enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, story line of Lorelei and Dallas going from hating each other to a passionate relationship. I loved the way Dallas stood up for her and supported her through all the problems with her parents.
My only complaint is that the book is quite short, I wish it was longer.
Excellently performed by Amy McFadden.
Narration is off on male voices. All the males sound similar. It makes it difficult to take some of the story line seriously.
"That true enemies to lovers story"
The the final and last installment in the series, we follow Lorelei - the perfect, buttoned-up lawyer - who has to work with (or compete against at times) another PI, Dallas Osbourne. Lorelei's goal is to prove to Dallas and everyone else that she has the chops for the job.
"Dallas Osborne is a force of nature. He's hard around the edges, crass, and full of attitude. His kiss matches his personality: it's rough and all consuming."
Super cute, sassy, and red hot at times. Just as good as the first two books and the mystery just as intriguing. Great banter and a really quick read.
The narrator did a great job with the characters in this book.
"Light funny listen"
Not my usual type of book but I liked it. I listened to the whole series. Good book to listen to while driving.
"Gives new meaning to "bodice ripper"I"
Superficial and trite. Are there really girls like this? who talk like this? Who like stories like this? Moronic plot and lots of heavy breathing.
Awful read. Don't waste your time..
"It's a shame this had to end!"
I really enjoyed this series, funny banter and characters. The narrator wasn't too bad I actually enjoyed her with this book and got to see more of her character changes through out the book. Too bad this is the last of this series. I think it could have been a lot of fun with more detective stories for these three women. It wasn't great writing but it sure was entertaining to me. I'm really glad I gave it a try, the books are funny, short and sweet. They will be on my re-listen list
"A MUST listen to series.."
What a wonderful series. I laughed through all 3 books and was saddened to have each one end.
I absolutely loved Lorelei, Paige and Kennedy and their men, of course, Dallas, Matt and Griffen.
Each book had it's own brand of humor. I will definitely reread them.
A great love story, a little angst, and some great sex, too.
Loved Lorelei's Mom. She was hysterical. And loved Kennedy's Dad, Buddy and Uncle Wally.
Funniest books I've ever read.
As for the narrator: Simply AWESOME. What more can I say?
"Excellent performance, sotry and fun!"
I would consider the book over the print because I liked how the narrorator was the same for all 3 books she used a different voice and read the books very well. Transitions were great and the energy level which kept me listening.
