Eve Duncan is the most sought-after artist in the field of forensic sculpting. Dedicated to her work ever since her daughter Bonnie was taken and killed at the age of seven, Eve feels a sense of duty to those whose lives were lost and whose bones are now in her hands. When a sheriff in California contacts her with a request for help on the reconstruction of the skull of a nine-year-old girl whose body has been buried for eight years, his intensity and investment in the case puzzle her. But when the ghost of the girl begins communicating with her, Eve finds herself wrapped up in the case more intensely than she could have ever imagined. Not since Bonnie has Eve had such an experience, and suddenly she finds herself determined to solve the murder and help the little girl find peace. Except that the killer is still out there, and he knows Eve is on the case. And he won't rest until anything and anyone that could reveal his identity is eliminated....

not very exciting, kind of bla. I've listened to all the series. not the best.
"another great Eve story"
Like a dear friend coming to visit. Great characters and the ending is the shock you should expect...but don't.
Always enjoy the Eve books. As usual Johansen has delivered another great read. This is one author that almost always keeps me wondering what will happen next. Excited to see new books in the series.
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I listened almost non stop and wanted it to go on. Can't wait for the next book!
I liked this one a lot! I really like when Eve can talk to ghost & I'm glad that Joe is on board now & beloved her.
This is the best Iris Johansen book in a long time. It just flew by and left me wanting more!
"Breath of new life to a long series"
story was good. narrator was great per usual. Some was corny, but it worked to facilitate a sort of reboot for the series.
The narrator is good, but the story sucks. Iris Johansen is really going downhill as a writer. I had not enjoyed "Sight unseen", this one is worse. This is the last book I buy from her, not doing it ever again.
"I couldn't even finish this book"
I have no idea who would enjoy this. Some of the reviews said this story was engaging but I found in boring and predictable. Absolutely no build up to a scene ending.
The writing was all over the place. It was like random thoughts just thrown on paper. I'm not sure if it was just this book or the narrator but I will not be purchasing from this author again.
Again, not sure if it was the book or the narrator but I did not like it at all. The idea was awesome...execution was bad.
This book needs to be completely redone. sorry
I hate leaving bad reviews but I'm just being honest.
"I have read every Eve book."
But this is the first one I listened to. I found the narration to be poorly done. Quinn came across as a pouting jerk not at all like the way I have come to think of him! I have the unlimited membership and it seems like the not so popular author's have better narration.
