The ninth novel in the bestselling Jessica Daniel series.
DI Jessica Daniel is not having a good week. Her wallet's been nicked, the refurbished incident room is already falling apart, and a new football-mad constable is driving her crazy.
She also has bigger things on her mind. A student's body has been dumped in a wheelie bin at the back of a university building, with a vague link to an Olympic medallist and a theory that it could have been an induction which went wrong.
There's the tattooed shop raider who has her team stumped; someone attacking lone women; a chief inspector who seems to have a problem with her; and someone putting letters through her front door, insisting that she's caught the wrong man.
Worlds are colliding for Jessica--and, if she's not careful, someone close to her might not make it out in one piece.

I enjoy reading but never find the time to pick up a book so Audible has been a great find! Addicted to good detective crime books!
I've listened to the whole series (all but the only one I can't find as an audio book) and I really have enjoyed them all.
What a great writer with excellent narration - will there be more?
I can't help but feel the ending could have been different though - I won't give anything away as it really is a great listen and you can make your own mind up! You really do start to learn more about Jessica and what makes her tick and see the other side of her.
Definitely don't want this series to end!

This is well written with great, well drawn characters. So much so that I found myself rather loving it, despite becoming muddled at as to the role of various suspect male characters. The muddle unfortunately, never resolved. That sort of thing would usually see me abandoning a book and going for a refund, but with this, I still loved it. Funny that!
Just the right amount of personal stuff mixed in with the detective stuff. The latter keeps you guessing and also lets you feel a bit smug when you work some things out.
The plot is a bit confused, and the ending very predictable. I was really disappointed with this book.
It sure. Just found it boring.
Did her job with the standard of the book she had to work with.
No, not for me. I will not be buying another book by this author.
A really strong female main character, full of personality and life. Great sense of humour. Only just come across this series and read a late one first. Will now start at the beginning and don't think that I'll be disappointed because of what I know about her future history but will read this again in sequence. Narrator's voice works perfectly for the book. Thanks!
I'm an audible addict!
I'm always so pleased to find an author I don't know who I really like.
This is so well read too with great characterisation of the individuals
I really enjoyed it and will be looking for more of the same
A week later, at that point, I knew what was coming. But to end it as she did, quite boring actually. This is only one of many with a piss poor ending.
I loved it keep them coming. Yet another fantastic book by this author. I look forward to hearing her books whenever I get the chance.
Didn't know what to expect first book I've read by author, passable story not that trilling but entertaining passed some time.
Narrator was good
