Something is lurking under the lake...
Struggling to come to terms with the sudden death of his sister, Owen Saddler becomes obsessed with the lake that claimed her life. The remains of a forgotten town rest at the bottom of that dark body of water - along with a host of buried secrets.
Thirty years earlier, the town of Peace Falls had been flooded to build a hydroelectric dam, and its ruins remain below the surface of Chapel Lake. The strange disappearance of the town pastor, along with many of the parishioners, still haunts the citizens of Chapel Lake. But does the church haunt the lake itself? Is Owen really seeing ghosts...or has he descended into the depths of madness?
Salvage is the debut horror novel of author Duncan Ralston. A disturbing story of depression, religious fanaticism, and the afterlife, Salvage seeks to illuminate the darkness within us all.

Scum with lashings of cheese grated flipflop.
Chilling, disturbing, and eerie.
I'm not a big fan of ghost stories so don't have anything to compare this to. This story was spooky as hell.
I listen to audiobooks in my car so one sitting wasn't an option.
Duncan Ralston is a superb author, and this book was fantastic. Daniel G. Curtis was the perfect narrator.
"Well Done and Creepy"
I recently discovered Duncan Ralston after I read Woom (a Matt Shaw production), so when I ran across the opportunity to get a review copy of the audio for this one, I jumped all over it.
Salvage is less extreme than Woom, but for a straight up ghost story it has some truly creepy and disturbing scenes in it. The back story and “mystery” plots are very well done and the narrator does an admirable job of keeping the pacing of the story moving as the towns skeletons are slowly revealed.
Very well done. I will be looking forward to more work from Mr. Ralston. 4.5 Audible Stars!
Daniel G Curtis does a great narration of this book.Owen is obsessed with the drowning death of his sister. He decides to follow her footsteps and realizes that he'd been there before.People do not want to help him and say that his sister stirred up trouble.Everything stems back to the flooding of the town that now sits at the bottom of the lake.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher

"Salvage: A Ghost Story"
This book was hard to get into. The narrator was monotone and flat. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.
"Five star book!!! I must read!!!"
I liked everything about this book. Finally a great ghost story. It had all of the things that I look for in a good spooky story. The story was tight and the writing was excellent. I received this book at no cost to me for an honest review
"Wow! Creepy, chilling, and worth a credit!"
A well written tale full of mystery, intrigue, and enough supernatural chills to keep me in a well-lit room. I love ghost stories and anything that will make me do a double take while walking through my darkened house at night, and Mr. Ralston definitely achieved that and more. I must admit that I already own this book on my kindle and absolutely love the originality of the story and the balance between mystery and supernatural that the Mr. Ralston deftly manages throughout the story. It has a unique premise and is so well paced that when I read it I just couldn’t find a place where I could stop without needing to know what was going to happen next and soon found myself at the end of the book. But, for me, listening to Mr. Curtis read it aloud brought it to a whole other level. I’ll admit that I was a little hesitant at first when I heard the narrators voice, but after five minutes I was hooked. There is a raspiness or gruffness to his voice that just lends itself to this chilling tale and makes it that much more haunting. There were a couple parts where the character’s voices got a little mixed up for me, but it was never enough to truly take me out of the story or keep me from listening with rapt attention. Overall, the narrator was a great match for the story and I would definitely listen to another story done by this paring of author and narrator. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
