In a small town like Solitude, Oregon, keeping a secret can be murder.
Stevie Taylor had left her sleepy Oregon hometown for a more exciting life. But after her police chief father passes away, the LAPD cop returns to Solitude and signs on as a patrol officer, hoping to heal from her loss... and from the horrific things she's seen in the city.
In Solitude, everyone knows everyone else's business - and, to Stevie's dismay, local gossip soon ties her to the new police chief and a man from her past. Tragedy then shakes up the small town when a teenager dies after taking a strange new drug. Now, the seasoned LA cop must hunt down the dealer while investigating the most important case of her life, one that could divide her tranquil town.
The first of four thrilling Rogue River novellas, On Her Father's Grave launches a new romantic suspense series from Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh.

An interesting and enjoyable lead in book to this series. Not dynamic action but enough to keep my interest throughout. The ending came up quickly but was believable and fitted in with the book being a novella. Looking forward to see how the author develops this theme.
"Pretty good thriller"
Kendra Elliot is on of the authors of suspense novels I read to fill in time between novels I'm really looking forward to. Until the new David Baldacci novel is released next Tuesday all I have is either time fillers or authors I am unsure of. I have eight Kendra Eliot novels in my Audible library and they rarely disappoint. Like all of her novels this one is set in Oregon. The local sheriff dies of a heart attack and one of his daughters who is a detective in Los Angeles returns home to be with family (mother, 2 adult brothers, an adult sister and some nieces and nephews). She joins the sheriff's department and soon after goes about solving a murder of a teenager. Of course she also falls in love with the new sheriff. It's a nice action/suspense novel. Kate Rudd narrates wonderfully well.
"Oh so good! Good plot. Good characters and nicely written. An easy read but interesting"
L A lady cop returns to her small town and her loving family. She was a good cop in LA and remains a cop in the small town. The new Chief of police is a good cop also and the two of them must find out what/who caused the death of two high school boys. I am going to listen to the next in the series right now.
"Great listen for a road trip"
Great little story. It provided entertainment during my 3 hour road trip. I will be listening to the rest of the series. Very likable characters.
This author is one of my favorites to listen to.
The narrator Kate Rudd does a fantastic job always.
"LOVED THIS ONE!!"
Brilliant characterization, top-notch writing, and perfect narration (Kate Rudd is one of my favorite narrators, which is why I bought this book in the first place). I read more than 100 books a year, forgetting books quickly because I read so much. But this book has earned a top spot on my list for 2017! Going now to get the other three books in this series!!
"On Her Father's Grave"
Great book. I will be reading the next book in the series. Would recommend this to friends.
Excellent narration and an interesting story. Not top quality literature by any means, but a good summer read (or listen!)!
A policewoman returns to her hometown to escape big city crime only to receive a call out to a party. A teenager collapsed and died on scene. Her hometown wasn't all Paradise after all!
"on her father's grave"
A very interesting book. It will hold your attention completely. A very good author. Look forward to reading more. By this author.
"To short for the price!"
All of it was enjoyable except the length.
I liked most of the characters in the story.
Yes, I have listened to at least one other of Kate Rudd's performances. She did just as well in this one as she did in the other. I think she does a good job as a narrator.
Don't pay full price for your ticket
My biggest problem with this book is that it isn't worth the price for the length of it. Now I am sucked in and want to find out what happens in the rest of the series, but I am not paying that much or using a credit for each of these books when they are all about the same length. Audible needs to reduce the price on these.
