Summary
Welcome to the most intriguing mystery you'll read this year. Welcome to Midnight, Texas.
From the number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels - 'the Mark Twain of things that live under your bed' - comes a new novel of Midnight, Texas, the town where some secrets will never see the light of day....
At Midnight's local pawnshop, weapons are flying off the shelves - only to be used in sudden and dramatic suicides right at the main crossroads in town. Who better to figure out why blood is being spilled than the vampire Lemuel, who, while translating mysterious texts, discovers what makes Midnight the town it is?
There's a reason why witches and werewolves, killers and psychics, have been drawn to this place. And now they must come together to stop the bloodshed in the heart of Midnight. For if all hell breaks loose - which just might happen - it will put the secretive town on the map, where no one wants it to be....

More midnight fun
............the series continues with some new characters, and some "powering-up" of existing ones. Same light tone, narration and nonsense.
If you've enjoyed the first two books in the series, then this is more of the same. Hardly ground-breaking stuff (no pun intended - no spoiler given), but it's a light-hearted series to escape to.

Looking forward to the next one...
I love the Midnight series, the characters draw me in and, as with the first two books, I couldn't stop listening. The narrator, as always m, did a fantastic job.

Different but enjoyable
I like charlaine harris stories but this was different for me. I can’t quite believe I enjoyed it so much even though it’s weird. I’ve listened to it twice. And would recommend you try it. Characters well described and interesting

Will miss this book series
I loved this book series. I will miss it. Charlaine Harris is an amazing writer.
I liked this book the least of the series but I just adore the characters especially Fiji and Mr Snuggly.

Needing more in this series
I have loved the Midnight books & Susan Bennett has really brought them to life. The characters are fab & to be honest I just want to hang out with them all day (and night)
It is different from the TV series, so if you’ve watched that - you can still enjoy the books

Weird but very readable
Good story with no unnecessary padding. Particularly liked the little contrasts between actions and or spoken words and actual thoughts of characters; this rounded them off and gave them a lot of realism.

Simply Fantastic - You will not be disappointed
Charlaine Harris has done it again, and proven that she is certainly no one trick pony with the Sookie Stackhouse novels. The Midnight books had a lovely feel to them and the stories and characters are engaging and likable.
Special mention needs to go to Susan Bennett, she is easily my favorite narrator and does a wonderful job on these books.
