"Coben fans - avoid like the plague!"

I downloaded this thinking it was a new Coben who, on his day, is one of the sharpest writers around.

It wasn't - this is a real con; his second attempt at novel writing.

Set during the advent of the AIDS panic, it is weakly plotted with unbelievable characters. It is also hindered by the fact that time has moved on and thus is incredibly dated

Don't let this put you off Harlen Coben - his books after this one range from very good to great.

    "Miracle Cure"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No I wouldn't. I started to listen o the book and it soon became clear what the story was about and who the killer was and why. I only continued to the end of the book to see if I was right and not because the book was good.

If you’ve listened to books by Harlan Coben before, how does this one compare?

This is not one of his better books. I have listened to a number of them and have enjoyed them.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The end. Only because I found out I was right.

Was Miracle Cure worth the listening time?

    Not really

    Any additional comments?

I will continue to listen to them as I really them normally I just didn't enjoy this one.

With the highlight on AIDS this is a fantastic book and yet again Harlan Coben never lets me down... from start to finish the plot and the story keep you on the edge of the seat, you simply can't stop listening.

    "Surprisingly Good"

When I listened to the intro to this book I must admit I felt cheated. I hadn't realised Harlan had written this book so long ago, I think he said he was just 19. I expected it to be fairly rubbishy. However, I soon felt happier, it was a very good story, even though some aspects were obviously dated, the subject of DNA being introduced as very new. This book is much darker than the light-hearted and amusing Myron Bolitar books. It's not the best book I've read/listened to, but is very far from being the worst.
