Poirot had been present when Jane bragged of her plan to "get rid of" her estranged husband. Now the monstrous man was dead. And yet the great Belgian detective couldn't help feeling he was being taken for a ride.
After all, how could Jane have stabbed Lord Edgware to death in his library at exactly the same time she was seen dining with friends? And what could be her motive now that the aristocrat had finally granted her a divorce?

"The whole case is a triumph of Poirot's special qualities." (Times Literary Supplement)
This Agatha Christie novel is read by Hugh Fraser who plays Captain Hastings in the TV series Poirot. His talent of bringing the dialogues to life is outstanding. His ability to sound like Poirot, Inspector Japp, Captain Hastings and variety of female characters, as well as his ability to imitate various accents makes you feel you can see the protagonists in your mind's eye. This is a hugely enjoyable plot, with the usual Agatha Christie twists and turns, that keep you guessing to the end.
A real treat, and I will certainly be buying more books read by Hugh Fraser.
Hugh Fraser did his brilliant job of narrating this story.
Agatha Christie did her brilliant job of keeping you guessing all the way through.
There were lots of twists and turns but this time I got there in the end and got there in the end and got the right culprit.
looking forward to listening to my next audio book.
Love crime thrillers, big Ian flemming fan.
Great book, excellent plot twists and beautiful narration. Have listened to all most of them, but this ones my favourite
"classic poirot twists and turns"
Hugh Fraser reads beautifully and this story is classic Agatha Christie with lots of red herrings and twists and turns. My one comment to audible.com is that around the 2.5 hour mark there was about 10 seconds of technical glitchery in which every second syllable was garbled.
Otherwise really really great.
