In development to be a TV movie! From debut author Traci Andrighetti comes a tale of murder, mayhem, and meddling Sicilian grandmas.
Francesca "Franki" Amato is a tough-talking rookie cop in Austin, Texas - until an unfortunate 911 call involving her boyfriend, Vince, and a German female wrestler convinces her once and for all that she just isn't cut out for a life on the police force. So Franki makes the snap decision to move to New Orleans to work at her friend Veronica's detective agency, Private Chicks, Inc. But Franki's hopes for a more stable life are soon dashed when Private Chicks is hired by the prime suspect in a murder case to find out what really happened to a beautiful young boutique manager who was found strangled to death with a cheap yellow scarf. When she's not investigating, Franki is hoping to seduce handsome bank executive Bradley Hartmann, but most of her time is spent dodging date offers from a string of "good Italian boys" - make that not-so-good aging Italian men - that her meddlesome Sicilian grandma has recruited as marriage candidates. As Mardi Gras approaches and the mystery of the murdered shop girl gets more complicated, Franki must decipher the odd ramblings of a Voodoo priestess to solve both the murder and the mystery of her own love life.

I would certainly listen to this book again. It's funny, the characters are quirky, I liked the little bit of romantic drama and the mystery was interesting and entertaining.
I loved the characters in the story. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments.
No, I haven't listened to any of her other work but I would be happy to do so.
Yes, this was a book that I listened to in as as few sittings as possible. It had me hooked!
I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series!
I voluntarily received a review copy.
PI, ex-cop, NOLA, stripper, stress buster, humor, no gratuitous erotica,
What's not to like? Franki really wanted to be a cop, but her mentor was a sleazebag and her lover seemed to prefer lady wrestlers, so she packed up and left Texas for NOLA and her best friend's PI agency. The smothering Italian family had her phone number, though. The verbal humor is great, but the situational humor is guaranteed to have you snorting your caffeine! The publisher's blurb gives hints, but can't really do justice to things like the eccentric ex-stripper who still dresses for pole dancing, or some of the antics the characters get up to. A fun escape read!
I had the ebook, but forgot about it until I got the audio. Glad I waited, because Madeline Mrozek gave an absolutely stellar performance! She really enhances any book that she narrates.
Right off the bat, the narrator, Madeline Mrozek sounded professional.
Glenda among others was a favorite character, because she was a character! So outrageous!
Madeline Mrozek made all the characters come alive!!

"Enjoyable, Easy & Great Narrator"
I have said it before in my reviews, Madeline Mrozek is one of the most enjoyable narrators out there today. I would not have finished this book if not for her narration. "laying the ground work"
Limoncello Yellow: Franki Amato Mysteries, Book 1
by Traci Andrighetti
A nice cozy mystery. A bit over done on all the fashion descriptions, but that might just be me. It did give a good start to laying the ground work for the upcoming series.

"Campy and well written"
Light-hearted yet well developed mystery book.
When the nun was standing in their kitchen.
No, but I look forward to listening to more!
It made me laugh and tear up. It touched a lot of different emotions.

This is a fun cozy mystery set in New Orleans. There are a few problems with the book. The main character would not let the potential love interest explain his situation. She thought he was married. Even if she would not listen she could have had the computer guru in her office research him on the internet. I really like the stripper landlady.
The narration was very good.

"Good start to a new series"
This book definitely had its plusses & minuses for me, but overall I did enjoy it & will look forward to the next installment of this series. Here are a few of my thoughts - Plusses: Madeline Mrozek is a very strong narrator, good story, not too predictable until close to the end, fun characters, humorous situations, main character isn't a perfect "barbie". Minuses: I didn't appreciate the vudu stuff, while there wasn't a ton of swearing I could have done with less (or none), the supporting characters need a little more development. Like I said, good start, I think the series has potential.

"Nice easy listen"
The narration of this book was excellent. The plot was easy to follow and the ending predictable. It was and light read without a lot of action or conflict.
