Summary
The latest in this classic unabridged Agatha Christie audio collection, read by Hugh Fraser.
It’s Christmas Eve. The Lee family reunion is shattered by a deafening crash of furniture, followed by a high-pitched wailing scream. Upstairs, the tyrannical Simeon Lee lies dead in a pool of blood, his throat slashed.
But when Hercule Poirot, who is staying in the village with a friend for Christmas, offers to assist, he finds an atmosphere not of mourning but of mutual suspicion. It seems everyone had their own reason to hate the old man…
Critic reviews
"There is irresistible simplicity and buoyancy of a Christmas treat about it all." (Times Literary Supplement)

Unusual and full of red herrings
Really enjoyed this. A fan of interesting crime - Agatha Christie, Dick Francis and the like, this was a new Poirot story to me. Full of twists and turns and the interesting group scene at the end where all is revealed. I didn't guess although as usual, all the clues were there if you just realised! Read well and with style. I would listen to another.

Hercules Christmas
Another book from Agatha’s canon that I’ve loved. Listened to the whole thing while dog walking over two days. Better than the episode on telly :)

Hugh Fraser is excellent
Every Agatha Christie book he reads is perfectly done, every character is superbly represented . Best poorly since John Moffat

Yet another entertaining mystery
★★★★✰ 4 stars
This was so much fun! While it might not be the most complex mystery concocted by our queen of crime Agatha Christie, it was a very entertaining read. Christie excels in depicting family drama.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Hugh Fraser, and his voice perfectly rendered the setting and characters of the novel.

A good read
Hugh Fraser is a very good narrator, he brings the book to life. It is a good story, it's not my favourite Poirot book but it is an interesting plot and I am happy to return to this story from time to time.

Rather far fetched
Well read as usual by Hugh Fraser but u find the plot of this one just a little too full of far-fetched plot twists. Good fun over Christmas though!

Christmas Poirot's style!! A murder
As always. It had it twists and turn and it fair bastards.
I really like the way the story graduates to a round the table kind of finale.
